Embark on an early morning visit to the exquisite Agra Fort, and one last view of the Taj Mahal. It's back onboard for a relaxed breakfast as you begin the journey to Ranthambore. Lunch is served before you arrive at the National Park. Originally the private hunting ground of the Maharajas’ of Jaipur, the park is famous for its open sightings of Sambar Deer, Chital, Nilgai, Chinkara, Wild Boar, Sloth Bears, Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards, and of course Tigers. In the afternoon visit the truly breath-taking Junagarh Fort which dates from 1593, then in the evening indulge in a royal experience as a convoy of camel carts accompanied by musicians takes you to the Sand Dunes. It’s a short ride from Brasov to the ancient town of Sighisoara this morning, and here you will discover one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns and the rumoured birthplace of Dracula. Following lunch served onboard the train you arrive in Sibiu. Explore its fascinating Old Town, a remnant of the Saxon settlements of the 12th century and admire its Germanic architecture. The city still preserves medieval walls and towers, such as the Council Tower from the 13th century, that connect the main squares. The town itself is world-renowned thanks to the discovery of diamonds back in 1871, and the aforementioned Big Hole is an astonishingly huge crater from which over 22 million tons of earth has been removed by hand, in the search for diamonds. Day 68: Overnight onboard Rovos Rail from Pretoria to Cape Town
The train passes through Karoo whilst you enjoy your breakfast this morning. A vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea. Following lunch, there is the chance for guests to disembark the train at Whitehill Siding and enjoy a 5km accompanied walk into Matjiesfontein. The walk is not compulsory, and one can simply disembark the train in the historic village if you prefer. Here you can explore the village itself, as well as the museum on the station platform. Once back onboard the train passes through the first of four tunnels which is 13.5km long. Around 7:30 pm dinner is served as the train climbs 750m down the escarpment towards Worcester. Day 69: Cape Town
