Porto

The historic city of Porto climbs the hills overlooking the mouth of the sparkling River Duoro. An attractive and high-spirited city, its historic centre, the UNESCO World Heritage listed Ribeira district, delights visitors with its narrow medieval streets, steep staircases, colourful patchwork of buildings and humming squares overlooked by beautiful tiled churches. Porto is famous for its production of Port and it is still stored in the enormous cellars that are housed along the banks of the river.
