DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN ZURICH
Arrive in Zurich today and check in at your hotel for an overnight stay. Make the most of your time in Zurich - amble down the Lake Promenade and the winding streets of the Old Town, unearth the artistic masterpieces of the Kunsthaus, watch operatic perfection at the famed Schauspielhaus, or do some shopping along Bahnhofstrasse, Switzerland’s answer to the Champs- Élysées. (Overnight in Zurich)

DAY 2 - THE BERNINA EXPRESS TO ITALY
Today you'll take one of the world's most scenic journeys - the Bernina Express! Travel through the Alps on a scenic journey from Zurich to Chur, where you will pick up the panoramic train. The tracks of the Bernina Express have now been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the journey will meander through snow-dusted mountain ranges, across striking stone viaducts and along the banks of some of Switzerland's sparkling lakes. At Tirano, connect onto the Trenord train and roll past Lake Como en route to Milan. Check in at your hotel for an overnight stay and enjoy a tasty Milanese dinner! (Overnight in Milan) B

DAY 3 - VENICE
After breakfast, make the pleasant journey from Milan to Venice by rail, enjoying views of the Italian countryside as you go. On arrival, check in at your hotel for a three-night stay and start exploring the city! Waterside Venice's reputation no doubt precedes it, and many say there is nowhere on earth that matches the beauty and tranquillity of its splendid canals. (Overnight in Venice) B

DAY 4 – VENICE
Spend a full day discovering the gems of Venice today, with a small group tour of the ancient Doges Palace then the priceless treasure that is the Golden Basilica.  In the afternoon take a guided stroll through Venice's’ alleys, lanes and bridges with a local who can show you some of the secrets these narrow streets hold.  In the evening feast on some seafood or perhaps watch the world go from the historic ‘Harrys Bar’; home of the Bellini. DAY 5 - VENICE 
Spend an additional day discovering all that Venice has to offer. Fascinating museums, exquisite art galleries and ornate churches await! Enjoy a tasty lunch by the waterside and maybe sample some local delights at the Rialto Markets, including a fish market held here for over 1000 years. Be sure to leave some time to take a tour of the famous glassblowers on the island of Murano and stopover at Burano, a small island famous for lace and its colorful houses. (Overnight in Venice) B

DAY 6 – DEPART VENICE
After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and continue with your travels. If you wish to extend your vacation, perhaps with an additional day in a different city, one of our Rail Vacation Specialists will be happy to assist you with the details. B

Swiss Night Am Kunsthaus Zurich

The Swiss Night am Kunsthaus is located within a quiet residential district and is close to the Kunthaus Museum and the Opera of Zurich. Lake Zurich is just a short walk away and all 46 bedroms are light, airy and spacious. The hotel also benefits from a fitness centre.

Du Theatre Zurich

The Hotel du Théâtre in Zurich is a historic hotel which was a theatre during the 1950s.
