Travel along the tracks on one of Europe’s most scenic rail journeys, combining exciting cities with wonderful panoramas. Take the Brenner Pass rail line from the Bavarian capital of Munich through the verdant landscapes of southern Bavaria to Innsbruck, the winter sports capital of the Alps. Spend two nights exploring before rolling through the snowy Alps, through the beautiful Brenner Pass, to the iconic city of Venice for two additional nights.

DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN MUNICH
Welcome to Munich! Upon arrival, head to your hotel and check in for a two-night stay. (Overnight in Munich)

 DAY 2 - MUNICH
After breakfast this morning, enjoy a second day discovering Munich using your Hop on Hop Off Bus ticket.  If your trip greets you with sunshine, a stroll around the huge urban Englisher Garten is a real treat. Explore the boutiques, cafes and sights of the Altstadt, admire the architecture of Marienplatz, the city's central square, or learn all about Bavarian history at the Bavarian National Museum.  DAY 3 - MUNICH TO INNSBRUCK
Take the train this morning from Munich across Bavaria and the Austrian border to Innsbruck. The train passes through the historic market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and through stunning mountain scenery to the self-proclaimed capital of the Alps, Innsbruck. Look out for Kufstein Fortress as you cross the Austrian border. Once to Innsbruck, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay, and begin to explore. Use your three-part sightseeing package: the Innsbruck Card, cake and coffee at Café Sacher and dinner at the Theresienbrau restaurant. The Innsbruck Card is your ticket to free or discounted entry at attractions like Swarovski Crystal World and Tratzberg Castle,and includes public transport around the city. The card is valid for 48 hours, and during that time you can also enjoy coffee with a slice of Sachertorte plus a 3-course meal at one of Innsbruck’s traditional restaurants (Overnight in Innsbruck) B

 DAY 4 – INNSBRUCK
Innsbruck is city of stately beauty, ringed with snow-capped mountains. Wander around the old town, taking in the famous Goldenes Dach (Golden Roof), the Imperial Church with its striking memorial to Emperor Maximillian I or the Stadtturm for great views of the city. Alternatively, take a cable car up to Nordkette for skiing, hiking or lunch with panoramic alpine views. In the evening, enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many fine restaurants that dot the city.  DAY 5 - INNSBRUCK TO VENICE
After breakfast, take the train from Innsbruck through the Alps via the Brenner Pass route. This scenic journey takes you through Alpine meadows and past snowy peaks before skirting around Lake Garda and arriving into Verona. Travel over 3,000 feet up to Brenner, twisting and turning through the mountains before descending through Italy's rolling hills and into Verona. From Verona, switch trains for the short ride on to Venice. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. (Overnight in Venice) B

 DAY 6 - VENICE
After breakfast this morning, set out to explore Venice on your Absolute Venice - Walking Tour visiting The Doge's Palace and The Golden Basilica.  After lunch take a Gondola ride, a mode of transport that has been in existence in the city for over 1,000 years! Soak up the vibrant atmosphere in St. Mark’s Square, As the sun sets, wander through narrow cobbled streets, walk across ornate bridges over canals and stop for a leisurely drink in a little campo.  DAY 7 – DEPART VENICE
After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and continue with your travels. If you wish to extend your vacation, perhaps with an additional day in a different city, one of our Rail Specialists can help you with all the details. B
