Cordoba

The Spanish city of Cordoba, former jewel of the Arab world, is a fascinating and beautiful city, located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River in Andalucia. Historically a capital of a Roman province, an Arab state and a Caliphate, Cordoba's legacy is visible in a wealth of architectural monuments. Visit the second largest Old Town area in Europe for cobbled streets, white washed buildings and, of course, the UNESCO-listed Mezquita, a treasure trove of mixing grand and colorful Moorish architecture with Catholic decoration and altars.
