Mont Saint-Michel

Dating from 996 the tidal island of Mont Saint-Michel and its unmistakable Abbey have captured the imagination of many for centuries. Located on the Normandy coast, a fairly macabre legend has it that the island itself was made by the Archangel Michael himself. Pictures simply don't do it justice.
