DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN MUNICH
Arrive in Munich today and check in at your hotel for an overnight stay.  Spend the evening relaxing and getting ready for tomorrow’s train journey. (Overnight in Munich) B

DAY 2 - MUNICH TO SIBIU
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning before boarding the train from Munich to Budapest for the first leg of your journey to Sibiu. During your stopover in Budapest, consider taking the quick trip to the Széchenyi Baths for a healing dip in the warm, medicinal waters. Speak to one of our Rail Experts for more information on this. From Budapest, board the sleeper train for your overnight ride to Sibiu. The journey promises comfortable accommodations, scenic views and onboard food and drink options. (Overnight onboard train) B

DAY 3 - SIBIU
Arrive in Sibiu this morning and make your way to your hotel for an overnight stay. One of the most beautiful cities in Romania, Sibiu boasts sprawling city squares, important art collections and museums, and impressive architecture dating back to the Transylvanian Saxons in the Medieval Ages. Spend the day discovering the walkable city at your own pace, perhaps stopping for some delicious local cuisine at one of the hip eateries in town. (Overnight in Sibiu) B

DAY 4 – SIBIU TO BRASOV
After breakfast at your hotel this morning, spend more time exploring Sibiu. If you haven’t done so already, visit the Brukenthal National Museum, located within the palace of Samuel von Brukenthal, a former Transylvanian governor, and featuring works by Romanian and European artists. Later in the day, make your way to the train station for the direct journey to Brasov. Enjoy first class accommodations onboard the train. On arrival in Brasov this evening, check in at your hotel for a three-night stay. (Overnight in Brasov) B

DAY 5 - BRASOV
Be charmed by colorful, easygoing Brasov today. The friendly town, ringed by the Carpathian Mountains, features sparkling baroque buildings and churches, pastel-hued streets, and lively cafes with locals eager to share stories. Uncover the medieval sights the city is famous for, from the fortification walls that enclosed the city hundreds of years ago to old bastions that have managed to remain intact for centuries. DAY 6 - BRASOV
After breakfast this morning, you will be picked up for your private tour of Bran Castle and the surrounding area. Although often referred to as 'Dracula's Castle', the castle was actually home to Hungarian royalty and is one of Romania's national monuments. The current castle dates back to the 14th century, and throughout history, the castle has played a role in the country's defense against the Ottomans and other invaders. Your English-speaking guide will bring the vibrant history of the castle to life during this exciting tour. Your day also includes entrance to the Fortified Church in Prejmer and Peles Castle, the former summer residence of the Romanian Royal Family. (Overnight in Brasov) B

DAY 7 – BRASOV TO SIGHISOARA
Board the train this morning and enjoy the first-class journey through the scenic Transylvanian countryside to medieval Sighisoara. On arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Spend the day discovering the well-preserved walled city, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler (who the Dracula story is based on), and now an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the car-free cobbled streets, colorful buildings and pedestrian-friendly Old Town, now filled with shops and cafes. (Overnight in Sighisoara) B

DAY 8 - SIGHISOARA
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then spend another day falling in love with Sighisoara. Discover the Clock Tower in the old city center, which offers an excellent view of the town from the top, and visit the gothic Biserica din Deal, or ‘the church on the hill’ for a fascinating glimpse into local history. DAY 9 – SIGHISOARA TO CLUJ NAPOCA
Spend a final morning in Sighisoara before boarding the train for your first-class journey to Cluj Napoca. On arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay and start discovering the unofficial capital of the Transylvanian region. (Overnight in Cluj Napoca) B

DAY 10 – CLUJ NAPOCA
After breakfast this morning, set out to discover the stunning city, affectionately known just as ‘Cluj’. The central square, Piata Unirii, is full of vibrant activity, and the city itself is known for its bohemian cafes, music festivals and thriving nightlife. Surrounding the central square, discover Gothic St. Michael’s Church, as well as the dramatic Matthias Corvinus Statue. (Overnight in Cluj Napoca)

DAY 11 – CLUJ NAPOCA TO BUDAPEST
Catch the direct, high speed train through to Budapest today, perhaps enjoying a picnic onboard with delicacies purchased in Cluj. On arrival in the Hungarian capital, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Gorgeous Budapest is growing in popularity recently, and strolling along the banks of the sparkling Danube past extravagant, historic architecture it isn't hard to see why. Bisected by the Danube into Buda and Pest, be sure to cross the connecting 19th-century Chain Bridge in the evening to see both sides wonderfully illuminated at dusk. (Overnight in Budapest)

DAY 12 - BUDAPEST
Spend the whole day exploring the wonders of Budapest. The city enjoys a unique geography atop thermal hot springs, which has resulted in a rich selection of baths across the city. The largest, and perhaps grandest, of these are the sunny yellow Széchenyi Medicinal Baths, complete with both indoor and outdoor pools or tranquil water to relax in. Explore the huge Hungarian art collection in Buda Castle, or discover the famous Hungarian Parliament Building, the largest of its kind in the world. Later, visit the Great Market Hall - a wonderful place to mingle with locals, sample Hungarian food, buy souvenirs, and enjoy some people watching. (Overnight in Budapest) B

DAY 13 – DEPART BUDAPEST
