On this nine-day rail journey, you’ll get to experience the best landscapes and scenery the country has to offer, including overnights in iconic Swiss cities! Prepare to experience Rhine Falls (the largest waterfall in Europe), Mount Titlis, Jungfrau, the Staubbach Waterfall, and the breathtaking Trümmelbach Falls! In between all these wonderful stops and day trips, stay in Zurich, Schaffhausen, Lucerne, and Wengen.

DAY 1 - ZURICH
Welcome to Zurich, Switzerland's most cosmopolitan and elegant city, situated on the banks of the River Limmat. After checking into your hotel, spend the evening by the lake in the old town district of Niederdorf, famous for its bars, restaurants, lounges and boutique shops. (Overnight Zurich)

DAY 2 – ZURICH TO SCHAFFHAUSEN
After breakfast this morning, continue exploring Zurich before taking the train from Zurich to Schaffhausen. You can choose to take the approximately 45-minute journey at any time throughout the day. Upon arrival in the quaint medieval town of Schaffhausen, travel on your own to your hotel and check in for a two-night stay. (Overnight Schaffhausen) B

DAY 3 - SCHAFFHAUSEN
Enjoy breakfast and then step out to discover what the pedestrian-only Old Town has to offer. Located on the banks of the Rhine, Schaffhausen’s Old Town is one of the best-preserved towns from the Middle Ages. You could also visit Fronwagplatz, which is located at the heart of the Altstadt, to see the 16th-century Mohrenbrunnen (Moor’s Fountain). Interested in visiting a fortress? Check out Munot and climb the spiral staircase for views of the city. Then, go explore the Rhine Falls—the largest waterfall in Europe! Walk along the promenade or the right bank for spectacular, close-up views of the falls. (Overnight Schaffhausen) B

DAY 4 – SCHAFFHAUSEN TO LUCERNE
Have breakfast then take a scenic train ride to Lucerne, with a change in Zurich. Upon arrival in Lucerne, check in at your hotel for a three-night stay and start exploring the city. Perhaps begin by transporting yourself back in time and exploring Old Town, with its well-preserved buildings and gorgeous fountains and bridges. Discover the medieval Chapel Bridge with its beautiful interior paintings dating back to the 17th century. Or just enjoy the beauty of the waterfront by hiring a bike or wandering along the elegant promenade.  (Overnight in Lucerne) B

DAY 5 – MOUNT TITLIS
Take a 45-minute train ride to Engelberg after breakfast and then climb aboard an eight-person gondola up to Stand. Once you reach Stand, you’ll board the Rotair (the world’s first revolving 360-degree cable car) for the journey over the dazzling Titlis Glacier up to Mount Titlis. Up at the top, you’ll find an array of tourist attractions and restaurants, an adventure park, alpine flower trails, and Europe’s highest suspension bridge known as the Cliff Walk. Be sure to take out your camera to capture the incredible views! Following your day adventure, you’ll travel back to Lucerne for one more overnight. (Overnight in Lucerne) B

DAY 6 - LUCERNE TO WENGEN
Enjoy a relaxing, scenic train ride from Lucerne to Interlaken and then change train up to Wengen via Lauterbrunnen. Wengen is an idyllic Swiss mountain village located in the canton of Bern and can only be reached by train. With is wild floral pastures, lush green countryside, wooden chalets, and incredible views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountain, it’s a beautiful destination. (Overnight Wengen) B

DAY 7 – JUNGFRAU
Today, you’ll embark on your included Jungfrau day trip, climbing Europe’s highest altitude railway station at 11,332 feet! The journey takes you to Kleine Scheidegg, before reaching the station at Eigergletscher, which is well known for its mountain restaurant. From the top, take in breathtaking views of the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges Mountains in France. Then, marvel at the misty Staubbach Falls on the way back down the mountain into Lauterbrunnen. Staubbach Falls drops nearly 1000 feet from a hanging valley and is also the second highest waterfall in Switzerland. Optional: go for a stroll from Lauterbrunnen station to the base of the waterfall, which is about a five-minute walk.

DAY 8 – WENGEN
Continue enjoying the famous Swiss holiday resort of Wengen after breakfast. If you’re visiting between April and November, take the train to Lauterbrunnen and then board a five-minute bus ride to Trümmelbachfälle. Once you arrive, there’s an entrance fee of 11CHF cash to explore the spectacular Trümmelbach: the world's only glacier waterfalls that are accessible underground by lift, galleries, tunnels, paths and platforms. DAY 9 – YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN WENGEN
Check out of your hotel after breakfast this morning and make your way to Zurich airport using your Swiss Pass. If you’d like to extend your vacation, perhaps riding the rails to another destination, just speak to one of our Rail Experts and they’ll plan everything for you. B

The Romantik Hotel Wilden Mann is a traditional hotel with 51 bedrooms and suites set over seven historic Lucerne townhouses. The hotel has two restaurants, fine dining in the Wilden Mann Stube, and the Burgerstube, serving regional Swiss cuisine. The hotel is located in the centre of Lucerne's old town, 200 metres from the famous Chapel Bridge and a few minutes walk to the train station.

The Swiss Night am Kunsthaus is located within a quiet residential district and is close to the Kunthaus Museum and the Opera of Zurich. Lake Zurich is just a short walk away and all 46 bedroms are light, airy and spacious. The hotel also benefits from a fitness centre.

Du Theatre Zurich

The Hotel du Théâtre in Zurich is a historic hotel which was a theatre during the 1950s.
