DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN ROME
Welcome to Rome! On arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Enjoy two days exploring Europe's largest open air museum. Shrouded in legend, Rome is home to hundreds of ancient artifacts, architecture, beautiful churches and Basilicas such as St. Peter's and St. Martin's. Take a tour of the Vatican to discover the fascinating stories behind the smallest country in the world. Stop for a delicious Italian ice-cream in one of the pretty cafés by the Trevi fountain and then walk in the footsteps of gladiators at the famous Colosseum. Don't forget to have your photo taken with one of the slightly more modern gladiators outside! (Overnight in Rome)

DAY 2 - ROME
After breakfast, why not visit the Spanish Steps or stroll through the wide-open spaces of the Villa Borghese. Spend your evenings sampling the delicious Italian cuisine of Rome. Stop for a traditional wood-oven pizza in one of the charming trattorias or enjoy beautiful homemade pasta and regional desserts such as ricotta cake, made with fresh ricotta cheese mixed with sugar, vanilla and candied fruits. DAY 3 - ROME TO VENICE
After breakfast, take the Eurostar Italia train service to Venice. Speed through Florence, Bologna and Padova before traveling across the stunning lagoon and into Santa Lucia station. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in for a two-night stay. After check-in, treat yourself to a classic gondola ride through the maze of canals before tucking in to some Cicchetti (Italian tapas), washed down with a glass of sparkling Prosecco. (Overnight in Venice) B

DAY 4 - VENICE
This morning, climb St. Mark's Campanile for stunning views of the city or maybe discover the works of Magritte, Picasso, Pollock and Kandinsky at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Venier dei Leoni Palace was the home of American collector Peggy Guggenheim for 30 years. (Overnight in Venice) B

DAY 5 - DEPART VENICE
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before checking out and continuing with your travels. If you would like to extend your vacation, perhaps with an additional night in a different Italian city, one our Rail Specialists will be happy to assist you with the details. B
