Trip Overview

There are plenty of good reasons why Spain is one of the world’s greatest holiday destinations. With famed, must-visit cities such as Barcelona, Málaga, and Madrid, there’s no telling what kind of adventures you’ll experience. On this seven-day rail holiday, you’ll travel onboard Eurostar to Paris then board a high-speed TGV train to the colourful city of Barcelona! From there, explore the beautiful capital of Andalusia: Málaga. Located along the Costa del Sol, Málaga is known for being a cosmopolitan city and the birthplace of Picasso. In Madrid, stroll through grand museums and peruse the shops and restaurants along the Paseo de la Castellana.

DAY 1 –  YOUR HOLIDAY BEGINS IN BARCELONA
Welcome to beautiful Barcelona! Upon arrival, travel on your own to your hotel and check in for a two-night stay. Then, step out to explore the colourful city. You can choose to bask in the sun amidst the mosaics of the Parc Guell, catch a boat out on the ocean, or ride the cable car to the top of Montjuïc hill, where you'll be treated to delightful views over the city as well as a plethora of grand museums. DAY 2 - BARCELONA
Today, enjoy breakfast before continuing to get to know this beautiful city. At your leisure, spend time wandering along the city’s most famous shopping street, Las Ramblas. This tree-lined boulevard is packed with plenty of street artists, shops and great places to sit and people watch. Throughout Barcelona, you’ll also find Gaudi’s iconic architectural masterpieces, such as the world-famous Sagrada Familia. Art lovers also won’t want to miss a visit to the Picasso Museum to view a huge collection of the famous artist's work. After a busy day sightseeing, treat yourself to a glass of locally made sangria and delicious tapas. (Overnight in Barcelona) B

DAY 3 – BARCELONA TO MÁLAGA
Following breakfast, board a direct train for Málaga, the capital of Andalusia. When you arrive in the late afternoon, travel on your own to your hotel and check in. Then, step out and enjoy what the evening has to offer. The Spanish stay up late, so there is plenty to see and do! (Overnight in Málaga) B

DAY 4 – MÁLAGA
On your second day in Málaga, enjoy your included breakfast then continue exploring Costa del Sol. There are many things to see, do and experience, including strolling along the vibrant port, visiting the Picasso Museum (Picasso was born in Málaga) and the Alcazaba fortress (built by the Hammudid dynasty in the early 11th century), or relaxing on Malagueta, the most popular beach in the region. When it comes to the food and wine culture, you’re in luck. Málaga offers both Michelin starred restaurants and small fish shacks serving up delicious fare. What about checking out the hip food halls and traditional tapas bars? The sweet local wine isn’t so bad, either! (Overnight in Málaga) B

DAY 5 - MÁLAGA TO MADRID
Travel on your own to the station and board your direct train from Malaga to Madrid. On arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. In the afternoon, why not take a stroll around the impressive Buen Retiro Park, one of the largest parks in all of Madrid, and a wonderful spot for people watching, architecture spotting and even boating on the shimmering lake. Later, you may wish to enjoy a drink along the Paseo de la Castellana or maybe the Gran Via, an elaborate and upmarket shopping street. (Overnight in Madrid) B

DAY 6 - MADRID
After breakfast in your hotel this next morning, head out to one of the world-famous museums that make up Madrid's ‘Golden Triangle of Art,' including the iconic Prado Museum. Perhaps visit the Plaza de Cibeles and admire the grand architecture of its buildings and be entertained by live musicians and street performers. There’s even an Egyptian temple right in the heart of the city: The Temple of Debod. It was gifted to Madrid by Egypt in 1968. (Overnight in Madrid) B

DAY 7 – YOUR HOLIDAY ENDS IN MADRID

The NH Barcelona Centro hotel enjoys one of the best locations in the city. We’re right in the heart of Barcelona – in the Ciutat Vella neighborhood, near the historic Gothic quarter, and close to the best shopping spots. The Hospes Madrid is a boutique luxury hotel located within a 19th century residence. A trendy hotel on Madrid's Broadway, Gran Vía, it's ideal for shopping and musicals allike. Renovated in 2016, the hotel was originally opened in 1956 and served as Ernest Hemingway’s and the revolutionary Che Guevara's Madrid home.
