DAY 1 – ROME
Welcome to Rome, Europe’s largest open-air museum. Stop for a delicious gelato in one of the pretty cafés by the Trevi fountain and explore on your own. (Overnight in Rome)

DAY 2 – ROME
Today’s included tour features the Roman Forum, a drive by the Circus Maximus and the Aventino Hill. You’ll also stop to admire the statue of Moses and the famous Piazza del Campidoglio, and a visit to the legendary Colosseum. Don't forget to have your photo taken with one of the slightly more modern gladiators outside! (Overnight in Rome) B

DAY 3 – ROME
Visit the Vatican and Sistine Chapel during your included tour. After arrival at the Vatican Walls, take the beautiful spiral staircase and continue through the Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Geographical Maps until you arrive in the famous Sistine Chapel. Admire the amazing fresco of the Last Judgement by Michelangelo. (Overnight in Rome) B

DAY 4 – ROME TO NAPLES
Travel directly from Rome to Naples in first class onboard Trenitalia. Spend the rest of your day exploring one of the world’s oldest cities on your own. Start in the Piazza del Plebiscito with its grand colonnades and Royal Palace. Alternatively, head to the Naples National Archaeological Museum, which offers the largest collection of Roman artifacts in the world. In the evening, sample some of the best pizza in Italy or take in a performance at the world-famous Teatro di San Carlo, the country's largest and oldest opera house. (Overnight in Naples) B

DAY 5 – POMPEII AND MOUNT VESUVIUS DAY TRIP
Head out on your included day tour of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Wander around the ruins of Pompeii and see the Forum while hearing stories about how the city was buried under the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You’ll also visit the excavations on foot with a local guide. Return to Naples following your tour. (Overnight in Naples) B

DAY 6 – DAY TRIP TO CAPRI
Catch your ferry to Capri. You’ll arrive at the Marina Grande before exploring on your own. Check out the most popular landmarks including the Blue Grotto, Monte Solaro, Villa San Michele, and La Piazzetta. Then, enjoy some local cuisine for lunch. Return to Naples following your independent day trip. (Overnight in Naples) B

DAY 7 – YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN NAPLES
Check out of your hotel and continue with your onward travels. B
