DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN MYSORE
Welcome to India! On arrival at Bangalore International Airport, take the included transfer to Mysore via Srirangapatnam, where the legendary warrior Tipu Sultan built his island fortress and the Summer Palace stands. Once you arrive at your hotel, check in for a two-night stay. Mysore is known for its royal heritage and magnificent monuments and buildings. Rest up before your full day tour of the city tomorrow. (Overnight in Mysore) B

DAY 2 - MYSORE
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before embarking on a full-day tour of this enchanting city. First visit the majestic Mysore Palace and its unique blend of architectural styles. Within the palace, visit temples, handicraft showrooms, gardens and a residential palace. Next, visit the traditional Hindu Jaganmohan Palace, which houses the world-famous gold leaf paintings of Mysore within its walls. In the afternoon, you will visit the Lalitha Mahal Palace, which was originally built for the exclusive stay of the viceroy of India and now operates as a luxury hotel. Finally, visit Chamundi Devi Temple, a 600-year old ancient structure dedicated to the Goddess Chamundi. After your tour, return to your hotel for an overnight stay. (Overnight in Mysore) B

DAY 3 – MYSORE TO OOTY
After breakfast at your hotel, drive from Mysore to Ooty, nestled in the hills at over 7,000 feet, and check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. The picturesque city known as the “Queen of the Hill Stations” boasts lovely, sprawling greenery and tall pine trees. Enjoy an afternoon tour of the town’s botanical gardens, the church, and the local market before returning to your hotel for the night. (Overnight in Ooty) B

DAY 4 – OOTY
Enjoy a special ride on India’s famous “Toy Train” today. Since 1908, people have been travelling on this single-track railway to experience the unique journey through the lush Nilgiri hills. On the journey from Ooty to Coonoor, discover dense forests, a wide spectrum of foliage, mist clad hills, diverse species of birds, lush grasslands, and narrow valleys. Once to Coonoor, spend some time discovering the colonial culture and relax among the manicured hillsides. Later, drive back to Ooty for a relaxing evening at your hotel. (Overnight in Ooty) B

DAY 5 – OOTY TO COCHIN
Check out of your hotel in Ooty this morning and take the drive to Coimbatore to catch the train to Cochin (also known as Kochi). On arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay and begin discovering your surroundings. This serene city has been drawing traders, explorers and travellers for over 600 years and is now filled with artsy cafes, heritage hotels and interesting art galleries to discover. (Overnight in Cochin) B

DAY 6 – COCHIN
After breakfast this morning, enjoy a full-day tour of Cochin City. Start at Mattancherry, where you will visit the oldest Jewish Synagogue in India, built in 1568. You will then visit the Chinese fishing nets that line the entrance to the harbour, St. Francis Church, and The Dutch Palace – all relics of the city’s prosperous trade history. Later, enjoy an evening of classical Indian dance at the Kerala Kaleidoscope at Greenix Village. (Overnight in Cochin) B

DAY 7 – COCHIN TO PERIYAR
Drive from Cochin to Periyar today and on arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Periyar is South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary, set on the scenic Periyar Lake. This evening, attend a Kalarippayattu show and be wowed by the impressive martial art which originated in Kerala, India. (Overnight in Periyar) B, L

DAY 8 – PERIYAR
Enjoy an early morning guided trek through the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and discover its rich flora and fauna. Return to the hotel for breakfast, then set back out visit a traditional Spice Plantation where you will discover how many varieties of spices and medicinal plants are grown, harvested and processed.   (Overnight in Periyar) B, L

DAY 9 – PERIYAR TO KUMARAKOM
Drive from Periyar to Kumarakom today and check in at your hotel for an overnight stay. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure relaxing amidst the inland waterways of Kerala. (Overnight in Kumarakom) B

DAY 10 – KUMARAKOM TO ALLEPPEY
After breakfast this morning, drive to Alleppey where you will embark on your overnight journey aboard an Indian houseboat. Originally called ‘kettuvallams,’ these ferries vessels were used to carry rice, and were later converted into houseboats with bedrooms and attached toilets. Glide through the serene backwaters of Kerala, cruising past green rice paddy fields, coconut trees and the typical Kerala villages. Lunch, dinner and breakfast will be served on board. DAY 11 – ALLEPPEY TO COCHIN
Disembark the houseboat today and return to Cochin where you will check in at your hotel to spend your final night. Relax and spend the time at your leisure. (Overnight in Cochin) B

DAY 12 – DEPART COCHIN
After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and take the included transfer to the airport for your continued travels. If you wish to extend this journey with additional nights in a particular destination, one of our Rail Specialist would be happy to assist you. B
