Daily Itinerary: 

DAY 1 – ZURICH 
On arrival, take the short rail ride from the airport into the city and make your way to your hotel. Check-in then head out to enjoy this underrated gem of a city.  Wander the Old Town and perhaps head over to the Jules Verne Panoramabar for dinner with a great view or enjoy a drink at the historic Cabaret Voltaire. (Overnight in Zurich) 

DAY 2 – ST MORITZ 
At a time of your choosing, hope on a train to St Moritz via Chur then check-in to your hotel for a two-night stay. Relax in this famous Graubünden village and enjoy the facilities at your hotel or take a scenic stroll around the lake. (Overnight in St Moritz) B 

DAY 3 – BERNINA EXPRESS DAY TRIP 
After breakfast, embark on one of the world's most scenic train lines south into Italy. The Bernina Express is a spectacular journey from the snow-capped Alps and the Bernina Pass, down into the lush Poschiavo Valley and vineyards surrounding Tirano. There’s time for pizza in Tirano before returning north again on the Bernina Express train. Make sure your camera is on hand to capture the scenery changes in the afternoon light. (Overnight in St Moritz)?B?  

DAY 4 – GLACIER EXPRESS FROM ST MORITZ TO ZERMATT 
Enjoy the full splendour of one of Switzerland's most famous journeys, the Glacier Express. Early in the journey, the train cruises over the impressive Landwasser Viaduct, which is a marvel of Swiss engineering from a bygone era. The slowest express train in the world winds its way over numerous high passes and meanders past many small Swiss lakes and villages until pulling into Zermatt, nearly 8 hours after departure. DAY 5 – GORNERGRAT DAY TRIP 
Take an exciting ride on the Gornergrat cog railway today and climb to the top. You'll be rewarded with a spectacular panorama of Switzerland, with the iconic outline of the Matterhorn and the surrounding peaks and glaciers of the Valais region. Spot a chamois or marmot during your visit, enjoy a stroll through the nature reserve, and maybe even enjoy a fondue. Take the same route back down to Zermatt where you can enjoy the numerous small bars and restaurants on the car free roads of this beautiful village. (Overnight in Zermatt)?B

DAY 6 – LAUSANNE 
Make the most of your Swiss Pass today, and at a time of your choosing hop on a train to Lausanne via Visp. On arrival, use your Swiss Pass to take the metro (Lausanne is the smallest city in the world to have a metro system) down to Ouchy on the lakeside and make your way to the 12th Century Chateaux d’Oucy for one night in this stunning residence. In the afternoon, take the short stroll to the Olympic Museum and enjoy its fascinating collection oF artefacts. (Overnight in Lausanne) B 

DAY 7 - GOLDEN PASS LINE – MONTREUX TO LUCERNE
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before taking the short hop to Montreux, where you board the Golden Pass train. This line rises steeply at first, passing sloping gardens and amazing views of the Swiss Riviera. There’s an easy change of trains in Zweisimmen and from here the train follows the Simme Valley through the Bernese Oberland into Interlaken between Lakes Thun and Brienz.  Make one final change and this time enjoy more mountainous scenery en route to Lucerne.  On arrival, check-in at your hotel for a two-night stay. DAY 8 - LUCERNE 
After a leisurely breakfast, explore this medieval city. The wooden Chapel Bridge has stood here since 1333 and is not only the focal point of this city, but also the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe. Enjoy a stroll through the cobbled old town and around the lake, then perhaps wander up to the Löwendenkmal. (Overnight in Lucerne) B  

DAY 9 – MOUNT PILATUS DAY TRIP 
Today is a special day. First, enjoy a scenic one-hour cruise on Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad, where you’ll take a 30-minute cogwheel train ride. The Cogwheel Railway operates between May and November, whilst at other times you can reach the top via a spectacular aerial gondola and cableway. At the top, you'll find the historic and extraordinary Pilatus Kulm Hotel, which is where you will be staying tonight.  Once the cogwheel train and cable cars stop in the evening, the mountaintop is transformed into a peaceful haven with some of the most spectacular starry skies in the world. Enjoy a three-course dinner at the hotel before calling it a night. DAY 10 – YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN LUCERNE 
Wake early to watch the sun rise, then enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading back down the mountain. Depending on the time of year, take the cog railway down to Alpnachstad, or take the cable-car and gondola ride down to Lucerne and train from here to continue your onward travels.  B

Nowhere do the stars shine more intensely and the sunrises are more spectacular than on Pilatus Kulm. So close to Lucerne and yet in a completely different world.
