Trip Overview

DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN BRUGES
Welcome to Bruges. On arrival, check in for a three-night stay at your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Bruges. Wander around narrow streets and over pretty canals or take to the water with a canal cruise. (Overnight in Bruges) B

DAY 2 - WWI BATTLEFIELDS TOUR
After breakfast this morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and taken by minibus to the area known as the Ypres Salient. Here you will visit restored trenches, see the cemeteries in Passchendale and Polygon Wood, walk over craters and bunkers in the preserved battlefield of Hill 60 and learn more about the history of this area which saw some of the heaviest conflicts of World War I, resulting in the deaths of over 400,000 allied and German soldiers. You will also visit the town of Ypres, which was completely destroyed during the war but has since been painstakingly rebuilt according to medieval plans. Return to Bruges at the end of your tour for a second night. (Overnight in Bruges) B

DAY 3 - BRUGES
Continue to enjoy this fairy tale of a city, wandering the cobblestone streets and stopping to marvel at the countless historical and architectural wonders, including Hof Bladelin, Groeninge Museum and Belfry and Market Halls. Enjoy dinner and a local beer at one of the many highly-rated restaurants that dot the city. (Overnight in Bruges) B

DAY 4 - DEPART BRUGES
After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and continue with your travels. If you wish to extend your vacation, perhaps with an additional day in a different city, one of our Rail Specialists will be happy to assist you with the details. B
