Bordeaux

A mention of Bordeaux will no doubt evoke the sight and scent of sumptuous wines – and rightly so. Capital of the world’s wine industry, Bordeaux has a long history of wine production dating back over a thousand years. The city’s 18th century center (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site) was also the inspiration for Baron Haussman when he was commissioned to turn Paris into ‘a modern capital.’ Get here by direct high speed train from Paris in just over two hours.
