Mallaig
The port city of Mallaig, on the north west coast of Scotland, offers visitors the appealing combination of a working fishing port with relaxing harbourside natural scenery. The city’s remote location makes it a popular retreat with pleasant walks and tours around town. The city also operates as the gateway to the Isle of Skye, with the famous Jacobite steam train (featured in the Harry Potter movies) operating in the summer months from Fort William to Mallaig, following the famous Road to the Isles. During the season, visitors can enjoy a meal and see the museum at Glenfinnan Station in town, and even stay in one of the restored carriages.
