Wilhelm Tell Express

The Wilhelm Tell Express connects two of the prettiest parts of Switzerland, central Switzerland and the Italianate Ticino.

The trip starts on a first class vintage paddle steamer which travels across Lake Lucerne between Lucerne and Flüelen in a 3½ hours. Look out for sleepy bays, picturesque villages and historic landmarks such as the Rütli meadow and William Tell's rock, as you enjoy lunch in the restaurant.

At Flüelen you join the first-class panorama train which runs along the scenic Gotthard Line through the Reuss Valley and climbs up to 1100 metres above sea level to the Gotthard Pass, across spiral and horseshoe tunnels, galleries and bridges through to Bellinzona in Ticino.

The trip continues on to the picturesque lakeside towns of Locarno or Lugano.
