Itinerary - 6 Night Holiday By Rail

Day 1-2 - Nice

Travel on Eurostar to Paris, where you transfer onto the TGV to Nice. On arrival in nice check-in at the Mercure Nice Grimaldi.

The Mercure Nice Grimaldi Hotel is a contemporary hotel set behind a historic façade. The hotel has 84 comfortable bedrooms, with ensuite bathrooms. The hotel has a solarium on the 7th floor. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street in the centre of Nice, a short walk from Promenade des Anglais.

Days 2-6 - Sestri Levante

After breakfast take the train along the French and Italian Riviera to Sestri Levante via Genova. On arrival in Sestri Levante check-in for your 4 night stay at the Grand Hotel Dei Castelli.

The Grand Hotel Dei Castelli is a charming hotel set within a castle surrounded by a large Mediterranean garden. The hotel has 50 classically styled bedrooms with contemporary amenities and facilities. The hotel's restaurant “Ai Castelli” offers Genovese cuisine with views across the Riviera, there is also a natural seawater swimming pool, and private rock terraces - perfect to enjoy the sun from during summer months. The hotel is located on the end of the pennisula between the Bay of Silence and the Bay of the Fables, the hotel is a 20 minute walk from Sestri Levante station.

From Sestri Levante we recommend a day trip to the nearby town of Portofino. This historic fishing village is a picturesque place to spend the day and can be reached by train or by boat during the summer. Lunch at one of the harbourside restaurants, or wander along the village's tiny streets to discover hidden gems including art galleries and jewellery shops.

The first village of the famous Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore is a charming village filled with multi-coloured houses arranged over the hillside overlooking the sea. Be prepared to walk up the village's steep staircases to visit the castle for views over the city, or the less energetic can relax on one of the beaches around the village.

Days 6-7 - Zurich

After breakfast take the train through the Swiss and Italian Alps to Zurich. On arrival check-in for an overnight stay at the Hotel du Théâtre.

The Hotel du Théâtre in Zurich is a historic hotel which was a theatre during the 1950s.The hotel has 50 contemporary and individually designed and furnished bedrooms, a cinema, an audio book library and a relaxing lounge. The hotel is in the centre of old Zurich. A short walk from the train station.

Day 7 - Zurich to London

After breakfast take the train from Zurich to Paris, travelling through Switzerland and rolling French countryside. On arrival in Paris transfer onto the Eurostar to London.
