Itinerary - 5 Night Holiday By Air + Rail

Day 1 - London to Berlin

Travel on Eurostar from London to Brussels, where you change onto the train to Berlin. On arrival in Berlin check-in for 1 night at the Art'otel Berlin City Center West.

The Art'otel Berlin City Center West is a contemporary hotel that combines art, photography and design. The hotel features famous works by Andy Warhol and photographer Christopher Makos thoughout the hotel and its 91 rooms. The hotel also has a the Warhol themed 'Factory' Restaurant and Bar. The hotel is located in the city centre, very close to the famous Kurfürstendamm, Gedächtniskirche, and Berlin Zoo.

Day 2 - Berlin to Moscow by train

In the afternoon you take the train from Berlin's contemporary Haupbahnhof, and settle into your sleeping car berth. The train passes through eastern Germany and Poland's flatlands, pausing at the cities of Poznan and Warsaw before carrying on to the Belarus border.
At the border your carriage is hoisted into the air and the wheels are changed from the Western European gauge to the "Russian" gauge. Whilst the carriage is in the air your passport and visa will be checked (you remain on the train). The train then carries on eastwards, passing through Minsk, and continuing into Russia (with a stop in Smollensk), arriving in Moscow in the evening.

Days 3-6 - Moscow

On arrival in Moscow check-in at the Novotel Moscow Center. (We highly recommend you book a transfer from the station to the hotel - please call for prices).

The Novotel Moscow Center is a modern hotel with 225 rooms and suites. The hotel has a contemporary restaurant ‘Cote Azur’ serving international dishes, and the ‘City- Lobby Bar’ for a post sightseeing drink, plus an on-site fitness centre. The hotel has metro station located within the same building complex and is a 15 minute walk to the Kremlin and Red Square.

Day 6 - Moscow to London

Fly with British Airways in Euro Traveller class from Moscow to London.

Railbookers highly recommends upgrading to a deluxe sleeper on the journey between Berlin and Moscow. The cabins are about twice the size of the standard cabins, the bed can be extended into a double, there is a table and they have an ensuite bathroom. Deluxe sleepers are not available on every train, and are subject to an additional charge. Please call for upgrade prices.
