After 5 nights to unwind in Viareggio, return with a stop on the way in historic Turin.

Itinerary - 7 Night Holiday by Rail
Day 1
London to Zurich
Take the Eurostar from London, Ebbsfleet or Ashford to Paris and connect with the TGV Lyria service from the Gare de Lyon to Zurich. On arrival in Zurich, check in at the Schweizerhof Hotel just opposite the train station, for an overnight stay.
Spend an evening enjoying this friendly, cosmopolitan city. Relax by the lake or spend the evening in the old town district of Niederdorf, famous for its bars and restaurants serving traditional Swiss cuisine such as raclette and fondue.
Day 2
Zurich to Viareggio
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before heading back to Zurich Hauptbahnhof for your train journey to Viareggio. The first part of this journey goes through the spectacular Alpine scenery of the Gotthard Pass route, past rolling meadow, fast-running glacial rivers and snow-capped peaks. Change in Milan for the Intercity service to Viareggio.
On arrival in the evening, check in at the Astor Hotel for a 5 night stay.
Days 3 - 6
Viareggio
Known as the ‘pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Viareggio is blessed with beaches of fine, golden sand and long boulevards lined with oleander and palm trees. You may well decide to spend your days simply relaxing on the beach. But if you fancy stretching your legs, there’s no better place for a stroll than along the Passeggiata, a sea front walkway similar to those on the French Riviera, lined with grand villas, liberty style hotels and luxury boutiques. There are also plenty of weekly markets where you'll see papier- mâché gifts designed by the makers of Viareggio’s spectacular annual carnival – where the huge floats are traditionally all made from papier-mâché.
Just down the coast from Viareggio, the resorts of Fortei Dei Marmi and Lerici are well worth a visit. The Tuscan cities of Lucca and Pisa are also only a short train journey away.
Day 7
Viareggio to Turin
Enjoy another morning in Viareggio before catching a lunchtime service to Turin. Arrive in Turin Porta Nuova station in the late afternoon and check in at the Town House 70 Turin for an overnight stay.
After you have settled in to your hotel, spend the evening enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and world renowned food of this historic city. Perhaps head to the Quadrilatero Romano, one of the oldest parts of Turin's centre which also offers lots of trendy boutiques and bars.
Day 8
Turin to London
Leave early this morning for your TGV service from Porta Susa station to Paris Gare de Lyon. On arrival in Paris, transfer to the Gare du Nord for the return Eurostar back to London, Ebbsfleet or Ashford.

Viareggio is located on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in northern Tuscany and is a popular Italian seaside resort, dating back to the 16th century when it was the sole gateway to the sea for the Republic of Lucca. The city is also famous for one of Europe’s largest carnivals when huge Papier Mâché floats process through the streets. Discover Viareggio’s grand villas and hotels along the seafront Passegiatta al Mare . Or simply relax one of the on the long, sandy beaches.
