Begin your journey by Eurostar from London to Brussels. Hop aboard the ICE train, sit back and relax as you journey through Belgian and German countryside. Change briefly in Frankfurt before arriving in Munich in the early evening.
On arrival in Munich, check in to the Courtyard Munich City Centre for your overnight stay.
Munich, set in the heart of Bavaria, is one of the most picturesque cities in Germany and can offer travellers an unforgettable experience. Spend your afternoon exploring some of the various sights and attractions.
Spend an entire day in Munich before boarding the sleeper train to Orvieto. Visit one of the city’s many museums, relax in the Englischer Garten, one of the largest urban parks in the world and, in the evening why not have a beer in the Hofbrauhaus, the most famous beer hall in Bavaria?
In the evening, meet your train attendant who will show you onboard the City Night Line train to Orvieto. Settle in to your comfortable compartment, sit back with a glass of wine and watch the scenery roll by. Journey south through Rosenheim, the pretty Austrian town of Innsbruck and across the Italian border before arriving in Orvieto the next morning.
On arrival in Orvieto take the tiny funicular up to the old town and check in to the Aquila Bianca Orvieto for your overnight stay.
Orvieto is the perfect spot to begin your Umbrian experience. Built high on dramatic cliffs and sheltered by its ancient defensive walls, the town offers some of the most beautiful views across the Umbrian countryside.
The city's Duomo is a true spectacle. The striking façade features ornate sculptures and the huge interior includes incredible frescoes dating back to the 15th Century. The city is also home to a labyrinth of underground caves which can be explored on a guided tour.
After a leisurely breakfast, take the regional train to Perugia stopping briefly in Terontola-Cortona.
On arrival in Perugia, check in to the beautiful Brufani Palace Perugia for your 3 night stay. Capital of Umbria, Perugia is surrounded by lush green valleys, crammed with medieval architecture and home to Umbria's most famous chocolate makers.
Enjoy two days in Umbria's capital. Explore underground Perugia with a walk through the remains of Rocca Paolina, originally a 16th century fortress. Amble along the city's ancient Roman aqueduct, enjoy a spritz in a lively café in Corso Vannucci and appreciate the artistic masterpieces of the famous painter, Il Perugino.
Take the opportunity to explore the surrounding area of Perugia. Assisi, home of the famous Saint Francis is a great destination. Its main attraction, the Basilica di San Francesco is a major Catholic pilgrimage destination. Alternatively the town of Gubbio dates back to the pre-Roman era and is home to some of the finest restaurants in Umbria.
Following breakfast, take the regional train to Spoleto. Pass by medieval castles, rolling vineyards and white-washed villages before arriving in Spoleto just one hour later.

Following a morning in Spoleto, take the regional train to Rome. Pass the border from Umbria into Lazio and arrive to Italy's capital just 1 hour and 30 minutes later.
Check in to the traditional Mascagni Rome for your final evening in Italy.
Spend your afternoon in Rome exploring the city's historical sights. Climb the steps of the Vittoriano, a huge white monument built as a tribute to the first king of a united Italy, for fantastic 360 degree views of one of the world's most photogenic cities. Alternatively, opt for a true Italian ice-cream and people watch from the steps of the Trevi fountain.
After breakfast, travel to Rome airport for your BA Euro Traveller flight back to London.

Situated in the province of Terni, Orvieto is dramatically located on a volcanic rock overlooking some of the most incredible views in Umbria. The town features one of the finest Duomos in Umbria, an underground labyrinth of medieval caves and tunnels and the impressive Albornoz Fortress, designed and built in the 14th Century to protect the church.
The capital of Umbria, Perugia is an artistic capital of Italy and features numerous works by the famous painter, Pietro Vannucci nicknamed Perugino. The city is renowned for its chocolate making and is home to "Eurochocolate", a huge annual chocolate festival.
Spoleto is a lovely Umbrian city in the Italian province of Perugia. Its skyline is dominated by the impressive Rocca Albornoziana, a 14th century fortress but this is just one of many treasures this city has to offer. Once a Roman stronghold, Spoleto has some impressive Roman architecture as well as a wealth of palazzos and churches. Don’t miss a visit to the Romanesque Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta and the 14th century Palazzo della Signoria which now houses the city museum.
Italy’s ‘eternal city’ is a fascinating place, with ancient architecture and classical statues on every corner. Visit the Colosseum, the Forum and the Palazzo Sant’Angelo to learn more about Rome’s history or spend a day exploring the Vatican City, featuring one of the world’s largest museums, St Peter’s Cathedral and the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s spectacular ceiling. Spend an evening enjoying an al fresco meal on the Piazza Navona.
