On arrival in Moscow, your tour guide welcomes you at the airport or train station and accompanies you to your hotel, Renaissance Moscow.
Moscow is a vibrant city which mixes contemporary and historic architecture and old and new cultures.
In the evening you will discover "Moscow by Night" on a city lights tour. Explore the famous Red Square , and take your first trip on Moscow's elegant metro system.

The next morning enjoy a city tour including the Kremlin. You board the train and settle into your 4-berth cabin.
After travelling overnight the train arrives the next morning in Kazan. Kazan is the historic capital of the Tartars. Whilst in Kazan you visit the Kremlin, and take a boat trip on one of Europe's largest rivers. You re-join the train in the evening.
The train continues through the night and the next morning until you arrive for a brief stop at Ekaterinburg in the afternoon. You leave the train for a short city tour including the new Cathedral on the Blood, built in memory of the execution of the Romaniv family. Back on the train enjoy the Russian landscape through the window, and sample Russian hospitality with a vodka and cavier tasting.
The next day the train travels through the heart of Siberia to Novosibirsk. You are welcomed into this historic city with the traditional Russian welcome of bread and salt. Your city tour includes a visit to the lively market. You re-board the train for dinner.
The train continues its journey across Siberia, crossing the Yenisei River. The on board chefs prepare a special meal - the "Tsar’s Feast".
The train reaches Irkutsk which is the capital of Eastern Siberia. During a city tour you will see the new statue of Alexander III enjoy an excursion to the open-air museum "Life and Work in the Time of the Tsars. In the evening a taiga dinner is served in a Siberian forest restaurant. You spend the evening at the Irkutsk Hotel.
After breakfast you take a bus tour to a local Siberian village. A boat takes you across Lake Baikal to Port Baikal, where you re-join the train. The train travels on the historic train tracks which run alongside Lake Baikal. Dinner is served in typical local style as a picnic on the shores of the lake (weather permitting).
The train continues to travel along the shore of the vast Lake Baikal, and then travels through the mountain steppes of Eastern Siberia. On the way to the Mongolian border the train will stop in Ulan Ude, where you leave the train for a city tour.
In the morning you arrive in Ulan Bator. In the course of a city tour you will see the impressive Buddhist Gandan Monastery, the open air railway museum and the Lama Museum. In the evening, your tour guides show you the best beer garden in the city. You spend the night in the centrally located Bayangol Ulan Bator in Ulan Bator.
After breakfast you leave the train for a bus trip to the Mongolian "Alps", lunch is served in the traditional tents of the local nomadic herdsmen. You also have the opportunity to see a special Mongolian horseback riding show. In the evening you reboard the train, and travel onwards towards the Chinese border.
The train arrives in the early morning for a brief stop in the middle of the Gobi Desert. Around noon, you reach the Chinese border, where your Chinese train is ready for departure.
The train travels overnight through rural China before arriving in Beijing in the morning. You have 3 nights in Beijing staying at the Capital Hotel Beijing.
A four-hour city tour includes the Temple of Heaven and its park; as well as Tiananmen Square. In the afternoon you join a guided tour through the interior of the Forbidden City.
Today you enjoy a day trip to the Great Wall. Your programme also includes a tour of a pearl cultivation farm, the Ming Tombs and the avenue of the spirits. In the evening you enjoy a meal featuring the world-famous Chinese dish, Peking Duck.

One of the biggest cities in Siberia, Irkutsk became the home of many artists and intellectuals who were exiled to Siberia in the 19th century for their part in the revolts against the Tsar. Visit the Taltsy Museum, an open air exhibition of architecture.
The capital city of Mongolia, Ulan Bator was originally a Buddhist centre. Most of the buildings in the city were re-built after 1945, but some notable historic buildings remain including the gold roofed Tsogchin dugan, and Bogd Khan's Winter Palace.
Visit Beijing for a trip around the Forbidden City, to explore the vast Tiananmen Square or relax in the green surroundings of the elegant Summer Palace. Don't miss a cycle ride through the historic hutongs, or a shopping excursion to the Pearl Market.
Between Moscow and the Chinese-Mongolian border in Erlian (and vice versa) your Private Train offers five different compartment categories ranging from the the budget category with shared facilities to the best possible comfort available on the Trans-Siberian route with private facilities. No matter which compartment type you choose, all of them are about twice as large as typical European sleeping car compartments. From Erlian to Beijing, which take around 16 hours, you will be accommodated in comfortable sleeping quarters (the Chinese train does not carry sleeping cars of the Nostalgic Comfort and Bolshoi category; single and double accommodation aren’t guaranteed except for categories Nostalgic Comfort and Bolshoi / Bolshoi Platinum).
Standard Cabin
In the ”STANDARD” CATEGORY (I), there are nine compartments per car, each for 3 or 4 guests. On both sides, left and right, there are two berths, one upon the other and each of them sized 70x190cm. In the middle, below the window, you will find a table. Combined toilet/lavatory compartments are located at each end of the car.
Standard Plus Cabin
In the STANDARD PLUS CATEGORY (II), there are 9 compartments per car. A compartment is shared by two guests. Berths are sized app. 70 x 190 cm and arranged facing each other. There is also a table under the window. Combined toilet/lavatory compartments are located at each end of this category’s cars. In every second car there is a shower compartment.
Nostalgic Comfort Cabin
The NOSTALGIC COMFORT CATEGORY (III) are traditionally furnished with modern amenities. You’ll be travelling in an ambiance in which even former Soviet leaders would have felt at home – although with the comfort of the 21st century. Each of these rolling hotel rooms offers two large berths (app. 80 x 185 cm) and an armchair for an especially comfortable view of the changing landscapes. Two compartments share one bathroom, located in a small lavatory between every two compartments.
Bolshoi Cabin
The BOLSHOI CATEGORY (IV) is equipped with two beds, one of which measures 1,10 m x 1,90 m, even providing room for two people if required. Furthermore, the 5,57 m² large compartments offer a cosy seating bench, a commodious table and a wardrobe. The compartment’s exclusive en suite bathroom does not only contain a washing basin, WC and shower, but also enough storage space for your personal belongings. Each car of the Bolshoi category has only six compartments.
Bolshoi Platinum Cabin
The newly introduced BOLSHOI PLATINUM CATEGORY (V) features the highest possible comfort on the Trans-Siberian. Each compartment is 7,15 m² large and provided with full shower cabin, WC and washing basin. Each carriage of the PLATINUM CATEGORY contains about 5 of these magnificent cabins.
The Renaissance Hotel in Moscow is a newly refurbished hotel. Bedrooms are spacious, and offer modern facilities. For dinner, lunch or drinks you are spoiled for choice with 6 restaurants, cafes or bars to choose from in the hotel. Cool off with a refreshing dip in the hotel's swimming pool. The hotel is located 15 minutes from the Kremlin and Bolshoi Theatre.

The Irkutsk Hotel is a modern hotel with 245 bedrooms and suites. Enjoy dinner in the Medved restaurant offering European and Russian food, or the Seoul restaurant which specialises in Korean food. The hotel is in the centre of Irkutsk on the bank of the Angara River.

The Bayangol Ulan Bator Hotel is a modern 12 story building set in landscaped gardens. The restaurant is one of the largest in Mongolia and offers traditional and Mongolian food. The Health Club offers massages, a gym and a sauna. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Ulan Bator.

The Capital Hotel Beijing is a contemporary hotel with 599 bedrooms. The hotel offers dining in a choice of eight restaurants, and a Fitness and Health centre which includes a swimming pool, gym, and a spa. The hotel is in the centre of Beijing, close to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven.

Nostalgic Comfort Cabin
The NOSTALGIC COMFORT CATEGORY (III) are traditionally furnished with modern amenities. You’ll be travelling in an ambiance in which even former Soviet leaders would have felt at home – although with the comfort of the 21st century. Each of these rolling hotel rooms offers two large berths (app. 80 x 185 cm) and an armchair for an especially comfortable view of the changing landscapes. Two compartments share one bathroom, located in a small lavatory between every two compartments.
Bolshoi Cabin
The BOLSHOI CATEGORY (IV) is equipped with two beds, one of which measures 1,10 m x 1,90 m, even providing room for two people if required. Furthermore, the 5,57 m² large compartments offer a cosy seating bench, a commodious table and a wardrobe. The compartment’s exclusive en suite bathroom does not only contain a washing basin, WC and shower, but also enough storage space for your personal belongings. Each car of the Bolshoi category has only six compartments.
Bolshoi Platinum Cabin
The newly introduced BOLSHOI PLATINUM CATEGORY (V) features the highest possible comfort on the Trans-Siberian. Each compartment is 7,15 m² large and provided with full shower cabin, WC and washing basin. Each carriage of the PLATINUM CATEGORY contains about 5 of these magnificent cabins.
The Renaissance Hotel in Moscow is a newly refurbished hotel. Bedrooms are spacious, and offer modern facilities. For dinner, lunch or drinks you are spoiled for choice with 6 restaurants, cafes or bars to choose from in the hotel. Cool off with a refreshing dip in the hotel's swimming pool. The hotel is located 15 minutes from the Kremlin and Bolshoi Theatre.

The Irkutsk Hotel is a modern hotel with 245 bedrooms and suites. Enjoy dinner in the Medved restaurant offering European and Russian food, or the Seoul restaurant which specialises in Korean food. The hotel is in the centre of Irkutsk on the bank of the Angara River.

The Bayangol Ulan Bator Hotel is a modern 12 story building set in landscaped gardens. The restaurant is one of the largest in Mongolia and offers traditional and Mongolian food. The Health Club offers massages, a gym and a sauna. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Ulan Bator.

The Capital Hotel Beijing is a contemporary hotel with 599 bedrooms. The hotel offers dining in a choice of eight restaurants, and a Fitness and Health centre which includes a swimming pool, gym, and a spa. The hotel is in the centre of Beijing, close to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven.
