On arrival from London to Bangalore airport, enjoy a special welcome to India before transferring to the Hotel Taj West End to meet your fellow travellers. After a refreshing high tea in the hotel's Banquet Hall and a visit to a local art gallery, travel to Yeshwantpur Railway station to board the Golden Chariot.
Settle in to your luxurious cabin before heading to the restaurant car to sample your first gourmet dinner aboard the train. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you travel towards Kabini.
Awake for breakfast as you journey through Southern Karnataka to the Rajiv Gandhi National Park. Follow in the footsteps of the Mysore Maharajas and begin your day with a safari into the heart of the park, looking out for animals such as elephant, wild boar, sambar and the elusive leopard.
Sample a traditional lunch in the park before a safari boat ride in the afternoon. Study the numerous species of birds, many of whom are endemic to these jungles. Return to the train in the evening for dinner in one of the two dining cars (called Nala & Ruchi) before retiring to bed.
Depart for Mysore this morning to discover the wonderful, royal history of this incredible city. Home to families such as the Wodeyars or the Sultans, Mysore is full of palaces and majestic buildings. Take a city tour to the Mysore Palace, full of of Indo-Saracenic decoration and exquisite carvings.
Journey further into history with a visit to Srirangapatna, a fortress owned by Tipu Sultan, a legendary warrior King. Discover the mosque within the fortress and the dungeons where British officers were once imprisoned.
Enjoy a cultural evening at the Lalitha Mahal Palace before re-boarding the Golden Chariot.
As you journey from Mysore to Hassan ease away any stress with a traditional Ayurveda massage aboard the train. Disembark from the train mid morning for a sightseeing trip to Shravanabelagola. This is an important Jain pilgrim centre and followers gather here to participate in an anointing ceremony below Lord Gomateswara, Asia's largest monolithic statue.
After lunch in one of the fine restaurants onboard the train, depart for Belur and Halebid, home to one of the finest Hoysala Temples. Its extravagant walls depict fine Hindu deities, animals, birds and symbols expressing the lifestyle of the Hoysala Kings.
As you enjoy a traditional dinner onboard the Golden Chariot, depart for Hospet.
Arrive early morning to Hospet and depart the train for a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hampi. This spectacular city of ruins, once home to the Vijayanagara Empire is renowned as capital of the largest Empire of post mogul India. Situated next to the turbulent Tungabhadra River, the 14th Century Hampi ruins are a spectacular journey into a past era of grandeur, splendour and wealth.
Following lunch, get a feel for local life with a visit to Anegundi. Experience the traditions and custom of a typical village in Karnataka before heading back to the Golden Chariot for a relaxed evening.
Journey through the Karnataka landscape to Badami. After breakfast, take a trip to the Badami Caves. Study the unique sculptures and the red sandstone cliffs. Visit the temples of Pattadakal, once ruled by the Chalukyan Kings and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the afternoon, spend some free time enjoying the wonderful onboard facilities. Unwind in the Spa, have a drink in the beautiful bar or simply watch the scenery unfold in your cabin.
Arrive in Goa, known as the "World of Golden Beaches". Located on the West Coast, the incredible scenery and old world architecture have ensured Goa is a much-loved destination. Visit the famous churches of Old Goa, study the wonderful Portuguese architecture and revel in the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere Goa has to offer.
Check in to the Majorda Beach Resort for your final night in India. Enjoy a beautiful Goan banquet for lunch before spending the rest of the day relaxing on the sun-kissed beach and shopping for traditional gifts to take home.
Board the Golden Chariot for your final journey back to Bangalore. Arrive in Yeswanthpur railway station before bidding farewell to your fellow passengers and transferring to Bangalore airport. Return to London on your British Airways flight.

Mysore, the second largest city in Karnataka is situated below the Chamundi Hills. Its history as capital of the Mysore Dynasty and Wodeyar dynasties ensures the city's place as a centre of culture and glory in India. The city is famous for its spectacular Dasara festival, the Mysore style of painting and the Mysore silk saree.
Hassan has been called the temple-architectural capital of Karnataka due to its impressive number of temples dating back to the 11th Century. The famous Hoysala Temple in Belur and the Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebid are two fine examples of the area's incredible buildings.
Situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, Hospet is a town close to many historical and mythological sights. The medieval ruins of Vijayanagara, originally capital of the Vijayanagara Empire are the most impressive attraction along with the village of Hampi and Kamalkura.
Badami is a city famous for its rock carvings and unique cave temples dating back to 540AD. These incredible sandstone caves include manifestations of Shiva, Vishny and Mahavira. Badami is also well known for its impressive archaeological Museum and the Badami Fort.
With golden beaches, rich flora and fauna, beautiful Portuguese architecture and historic cathedrals, Goa is the perfect destination. The geographical positioning in the coastal belt of Konkan with its azure seas makes it an ideal place for watersports and the Goan locals are always warm and welcoming.

All cabins are air-conditioned and feature an LCD television, DVD player, writing desk, wardrobe and private bathroom.
