Itinerary - 5 Night Luxury Holiday by Rail
Day 1
Zurich
Travel on the Eurostar from London to Paris in Standard Premier Class, where you transfer onto the famous TGV train to Zurich. Speed through the French Champagne region in first class passing French villages and picturesque countryside before arriving into Zurich in time for dinner.
Check in at the Schweizerhof Hotel for your overnight stay. The Schweizerhof hotel features a beautiful restaurant, first class service and spacious rooms all located opposite the train station.
Spend an evening enjoying this friendly, cosmopolitan city. Relax by the lake, visit the famous Swiss National Museum or spend the evening in the old town district of Niederdorf, famous for its bars and restaurants serving traditional raclette and of course, delicious fondue.
Day 2
Zurich to Rome
Take the train (first class) from Zurich through the Swiss Alps along the Gotthard Pass. Look out for glimpses of Lake Lugano on the Swiss border with Italy. The train travels down to Milan before continuing to Rome (keep an eye out for views over Lake Como and Garda along the way).
Check in to Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese for your 3 night stay. This beautiful hotel is perfect for a sumptuous stay in Rome.
Days 3 and 4
Rome
Spend two days discovering the Eternal City at your own pace. From the striking walls of the Colosseum to the sacred Vatican City, Rome is the largest open-air museum in the world. Stop for an ice-cream on the steps of the Trevi fountain or wait until dinner to enjoy a proper Roman pizza is one of the countless trattorias.
Don’t miss a stroll around some of the beautiful museums of Rome. The Vatican Museum contains a superb collection as well as being the home of the Sistine Chapel. The Capitoline displays ancient Roman artefacts and the Borghese Gallery is world-renowned for its impressive artworks.
Day 5
Turin
Take the train from Rome to Turin (journey time approximately 6 hours) passing rolling Tuscan countryside, all from the comfort of your seat.
On arrival in Turin, check in at the Grand Hotel Sitea Turin for your overnight stay. The Grand Hotel Sitea is arguably the best hotel in Turin, fantastically located in the city centre and close to all the main attractions.
Enjoy strolling the streets of Turin for an afternoon. As a city with numerous cultural institutions such as the Palazzo Carignano, home to the first Italian Parliament and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud, Turin is a dynamic and important part of Italian history.
Day 6
Turin to London
Take the train from Turin to Paris, cutting through the D'Aosta Valley (look out for glimpses of Mont Blanc). On arrival in Paris transfer onto the Eurostar to London.

Italy’s ‘eternal city’ is a fascinating place, with ancient architecture and classical statues on every corner.
