Rimini Beach Holiday by Rail
Travel through the amazing scenery of the Alps on your way to the Adriatic coast with a 7 night holiday to Rimini. Take the high speed TGV down to Zurich for an overnight stop before plunging through the Gotthard Pass to Milan and on to Rimini. Spend four full days soaking up the sun and exploring the city's historical centre before returning to the UK with a night in Turin on the way.

Itinerary - 7 Night Holiday by Rail
Day 1
London to Zurich
Travel from London to Paris and connect with the high-speed TGV Lyria service from the Gare de Lyon to Zurich. Arrive in the early evening and check in at the Hotel du Théâtre for an overnight stay.
After settling into your hotel, head out to the Old Town area of Zurich just a short walk away, where you can enjoy a traditional Swiss meal.
Day 2
Zurich to Rimini
After a leisurely breakfast this morning, catch the train from Zurich Hauptbahnhof to Rimini (journey time around 7 hours and 35 minutes including a change in Milan). On arrival in Rimini, check in at De Londres Rimini where you will stay for 5 nights.
Rimini is one of Italy's most popular beach resorts, with long stretches of sandy beach and plenty to explore.
Days 3 to 6
Rimini
Spend four full days based in Rimini.
Although this city is famous for its beaches, it also has a fascinating history to discover. Occupation by a procession of invaders from the Greeks, the Gauls and the Romans to the Goths, Byzantines and Lombards has left Rimini with a legacy of striking monuments and fabulous historic buildings. Start in the lovely Piazza Cavour and visit the imposing Palazzo del Podestà before wandering through the Old Town, past sights such as the Arco di Augusto, dating back to 27BC and the landmark Tiberius Bridge.
There are also some great places to visit outside Rimini. Just down the coast, San Marino is the world’s oldest republic with its own postage stamps, currency and army. Historic Ravenna is also well worth a visit, with its UNESCO World Heritage listed churches and wonderful historic monuments including Dante’s tomb.
Day 7
Rimini to Turin
After breakfast this morning, leave Rimini for Turin. The journey by rail takes around 5 hours with a change in Milan. On arrival in Turin, check in at the Town House 70 Turin for an overnight stay.
After you have settled in to your hotel, either squeeze in a quick visit to one of Turin's world renowned museums or head to one of the Piazza Castello's historic cafés to sit and soak up the scenery. Enjoy dinner along the River Po and then why not take in an opera? You could even go to a football match featuring one of Turin's two international teams!
Day 8
Turin to London
Leave early this morning and head to Turin Porta Susa station for your TGV service to Paris. Transfer in Paris to the Gare du Nord for your return Eurostar back to the UK.

Zurich
Situated on the banks of the River Limmat where it meets the northernmost tip of Lake Zürich, the city of Zurich is Switzerland’s culture capital with excellent museums and great shopping, particularly along the famous Bahnhofstrasse. Discover one of the city’s many galleries such as the Kunsthaus Zurich which houses one of Switzerland’s most important art collections. In the evening, relax in one of the lakeside restaurants and cafés or explore the lively Old Town area.
Rimini
Founded by the Romans in 268BC, Rimini is an Italian resort on the Adriatic coast. Famous for its 15 kilometre stretch of golden, sandy beach, the city is also known as the home town of film director Federico Fellini. Top up your tan on the beach or head into town to discover Renaissance piazzas and Roman monuments such as the Amphitheatre and the Ponte d'Augusto (or Tiberius Bridge).
Turin
The capital of Piedmont in northern Italy, Turin is a cultural city on the River Po with a stunning backdrop of Alpine peaks. Visit one of the city’s world class museums such as the National Cinema Museum and the Museo Egizio, housing the second largest collection of Egyptian artefacts in the world after Cairo. After a busy day exploring make sure you find out what the ‘slow food movement’ is all about with a meal in one of Turin’s huge selection of restaurants.
