Prague and Bavaria

Relax on your journey, whilst the high speed ICE train whisks you through the lush German countryside and onto Prague. Prague is one of Europe's most popular destinations and after a few days exploring this fascinating city you will be under its spell too.

Itinerary - 5 Night Holiday by Rail
Day 1
London to Nuremberg
Travel from St Pancras International or Ebbsfleet International by Eurostar to Brussels and then connect on to the German ICE train to Nuremberg via Cologne. Check in at the superb Le Meridien Grand Nuremberg, situated opposite the station and where you will stay overnight.
Day 2
Nuremberg and on to Prague
Nuremberg has a long history and its position in Bavaria means it is also set in some beautiful surroundings, with the majestic Alps to the south. Don't miss out on a visit to the Imperial Castle, sitting proudly on top of the Old Town hill. The castle was one of the most important centres of power during the Middle Ages and dominates the city centre.
After lunch, take the train across the border into the Czech Republic, arriving into Prague in time for dinner. Check into the boutique K+K Hotel Central, where you will stay for 3 nights.
Days 3 and 4
Prague
Spend two days exploring Central Europe's most popular destination.
Steeped in history and with a wide variety of attractions, this not-so-hidden gem continues to delight visitors from all over the world. The city offers some of the best examples of Art Nouveau, Renaissance, and Neo-Classical architecture in Europe and its historic centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Climb up the famous castle to discover the seat of Roman Emperors and Bohemian Kings, take a look at the crown jewels and get a great view of the city. Cross the magnificent Charles Bridge and make your way to the Old Town Square to see the Astronomical Clock or browse around the little cobbled streets for shopping and cafés.
Day 5
Munich
Take the train back across the border back into Germany and arrive in Munich in the early afternoon. Check into the Courtyard Munich City Centre , just a 5 minute walk from the station and where you will stay overnight.
Spend the afternoon in this relaxed city, famous for great beer! Go to the Bavarian State Opera for a performance, visit the museums, relax in the park, and enjoy the local food and drink specialties in a bar, café or restaurant.
Day 6
Munich to London
Travel by high speed train through Germany and then Eurostar to London via Brussels (approximately 9 hour journey). Stop-overs enroute are available, please call for details.

Nuremberg
Nuremberg is a buzzing Bavarian city with a beautiful medieval Old Town, dominated by its imposing castle which dates back to the 11th century. Take a tour here and visit the castle museum as well as the pretty streets of merchants’ houses enclosed in the Burgviertel (Castle Quarter). There are also superb views to be had from the towers and ramparts. Elsewhere, the Nazi Party Rally Grounds offer an insight into the city’s more recent history. Don’t leave without trying some dark Bavarian beer.
Prague
Prague has over a thousand years of history, architecture and culture to discover. In the UNESCO World Heritage listed Old Town you can wander through narrow, cobbled lanes, discover ornate churches and stumble across grand open squares including the main Old Town Square where you can see the pretty Astronomical Clock, one of the oldest and most elaborate clocks ever built. There are also many museums to choose from, including the National Museum (for history) and the National Gallery, the second oldest art gallery in Europe after the Louvre in Paris.
Munich
With a wealth of museums, gardens and historic buildings, Bavaria’s capital Munich has something for everyone. Visit the Old and New Schliessheim Palaces, enjoy a performance at the Bavarian State Opera or have a picnic in the Englischer Garten, one of the largest municipal parks in Europe. In the evening, you might like to relax with a beer and a Bavarian meal in the famous 16th century Hofbräuhaus.
Le Meridien Grand Nuremberg 
Le Meridien Grand Nuremburg is a historic hotel with 192 renovated rooms and suites, all featuring elegant Art Nouveau-style marble bathrooms.
