Itinerary - 3 Night Holiday by Rail

Day 1

London to Paris

Travel on Eurostar from London, Ebbsfleet or Ashford to Paris Gare du Nord. Spend 1 night in Paris staying at La Tour D'Auvergne.

A quick visit to this beautiful capital city just a short hop across the channel. Wander around the narrow lanes of Montmartre, shop till you drop in the Opera district, take a cruise along the river Seine for the best views of the city or just enjoy a cool demi pression and a croque monsieur at a pavement café.

Day 2

Paris to Strasbourg

Travel on the high speed TGV Est line from Paris to Strasbourg (journey time 2 hours 20 minutes). Spend 2 nights in Strasbourg staying at the Mercure Strasbourg Quartier Saint Jean.

Situated close to the border with Germany on the banks of the Rhine, Strasbourg is a cultural combination of French and Teutonic influences, from its distinctive Alsatian cuisine to its grand and gorgeous architecture. The centre, known as the ‘Grande Île’ was the first entire city centre to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3

Strasbourg

Spend another full day exploring Strasbourg. Visit the gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame, once the highest building in the western world and explore the lovely winding lanes around it for great boutique shopping. Wander round the beautiful ‘Petite France’ area of the city with its black and white half timbered buildings and cobbled streets. Alternatively, why not take a guided boat ride though the city’s canals and locks?

Day 4

Strasbourg to London

Make a leisurely start before taking the TGV Est train from Strasbourg to Paris. In Paris, transfer onto the Eurostar to London St Pancras, Ebbsfleet or Ashford.
