Days 1 to 3
Verona
Fly with British Airways from London to Verona in Euro Traveller class.

Full of magic from the glory days of the Roman Empire, Verona is an Italian gem, brimming with stunning architecture, fine Italian delicacies and Shakespeare inspired attractions. Visit the ancient Roman amphitheatre, constructed in 30AD and still the venue for many musical and theatre productions.
Wander through the mausoleum of Arche Scaligere tombs surrounded by imposing iron gates or visit the city museum, housed in the 14th century Castelvecchio, a fortified castle situated on the banks of the River Aldige.
Alternatively, spend a day discovering another of Northern Italy's impressive cities. Venice is only a short journey from Verona by train (please call our travel consultants for details). Spend a day cruising through the Grand Canal on your private gondola, gaze at the beauty of St Mark's Square or enjoy and espresso overlooking the beautiful Rialto Bridge before returning to Verona for dinner.
Day 4
Orient Express from Verona
Board the splendid Wagons-Lits carriages of the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express at Verona Porta Nuova train station. Your steward will show you to your private compartment, before you enjoy a three-course lunch as you gaze at the beautiful passing scenery of the Italian Dolomites, the Austrian Tyrol and the Swiss Alps.
Afternoon tea is served in your compartment and later, it's time to dress for dinner before heading to one of the beautifully appointed restaurant cars for a delicious four course meal. Why not enjoy a digestif in the bar car before retiring for the night. When you return to your cabin, it will have been transformed into a cosy bedroom.
Day 5
Arrive in London
This morning, breakfast is served in your compartment before train pulls into the Gare de l’Est in Paris. A delicious brunch is served in the restaurant cars as you travel on towards the French coast for the Channel crossing.
In Folkestone, join the cream and umber carriages of the British Pullman for the journey to London. A traditional English afternoon tea accompanied by a glass of Champagne is served to you at your table and you watch the gentle scenery of Kent pass by. In the evening, the British Pullman will pull into London Victoria station.

Verona
Verona is a UNESCO World Heritage listed city in the Veneto region. Famous for its stunning Roman and Romanesque architecture, Verona will also forever be associated with Romeo and Juliet, one of three plays that Shakespeare set here, ‘in this fair city’. Romantics can visit many sites traditionally linked to the star-crossed lovers, whilst culture vultures can get fabulous city views from the Castel San Pietro or see an opera performance in the famous Amphitheatre.
Cabins
Private cabins on the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express have been restored to their former glory with original fixtures and fittings. Each carriage has its own dedicated steward who is available at all times to make your journey as comfortable as possible. Each cabin has two bunk beds and an original washbasin. The top bunk is folded away for day use and both beds are made up for the night with crisp linen and soft towels whilst guests are enjoying their evening meal in the restaurant cars. Toilet facilities are located at the end of each carriage and are maintained to the highest standards by the stewards.
Dining
The Orient-Express has three individually designed restaurant cars: Côte d’Azur, Etoile du Nord and L’Oriental. Lunch, dinner and brunch are served in these restaurant cars whilst breakfast and afternoon tea is served to guests in their cabins by their steward. All dishes are freshly prepared onboard using the finest supplies acquired during the journey. There is a set menu for all meals with an à la carte menu and 24 hour compartment service also available.

Day 1
London to Zurich
Travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, before transferring onto the train to Zurich. On arrival, check in for 1 night at the Schweizerhof Hotel.
Enjoy your overnight stay in one of Switzerland's most scenic cities. Take a walk along the beautiful River Limmat or stop in one of the many museums dotted around the city, before sampling some traditional Swiss fare such as raclette, sauerkraut or delicious fondue.
Day 2
Zurich to Verona
After breakfast, take the train from Zurich to Verona via Milan. Relax whilst the train cuts through the Alps on the famous Gotthard pass and then crosses the border into Italy. As well as the stunning mountain scenery, the train runs next to Lakes Lugano and Como. After a quick change over in Milan you arrive into Verona station in the afternoon where you check in at the Due Torri Hotel for your 3 night stay.
