Itinerary - 7 Night Holiday by Rail

Day 1

London to Nice

Speed under the Channel from London to Paris in 2 hours 15 minutes before transferring onto your high-speed TGV train to Nice. Spend your journey enjoying the changing landscape flash past your window before arriving in Nice under 6 hours later.

Check in at the Ellington Hotel for your 3 night stay.

Spend the evening enjoying some of the famous local cuisine on the attractive seafront. The Promenade des Anglais ("Promenade of the English) and Place Masséna, lined with palm trees, are popular spots for tourists and locals alike, and host many public events including the annual carnival.

Days 2 and 3

Nice

Spend the day exploring the charming town of "Nice la belle" (Nice the beautiful). Blessed with a sunny, temperate climate, Nice offers beautiful beaches, luxurious seaside dining and plenty of opportunity for shopping and sightseeing. Visit the Chagall and Matisse galleries to experience the colourful works of these two famous French artists.

Wander through Vieux Nice to discover traditional French architecture and the daily markets selling flowers, gifts and fresh Niçoise delicacies. Alternatively, visit the 19th century Palais Massena featuring impressionist paintings and folk art.

Day 4

Nice to Juan les Pins

Travel the brief 30 minute journey along the coast to Juan les Pins.

Check in at the Villa Nina Hotel for your 2 night stay.

Spend your afternoon strolling along the harbourside of Juan Les Pins. Known as Millionaires Quay, this harbour is full of yachts owned by the rich and famous. Stop for dinner on boulevard d'Aguillon, one of the liveliest streets in nearby Antibes with restaurants, bars and the Bains-Douches Gallery.

Day 5

Juan les Pins

After a relaxed breakfast, take a 20 minute walk (5 minutes by taxi) to Vauban, the oldest part of Antibes where the Roman walls still remain intact. Wander through the narrow lanes and cobbled alleyways, passing monuments such as the Chapel of Saint Esprit and the bust of Victor Hugo.

Stop to browse at the colourful Provencal Market with stalls of fresh fruit, fish and beautiful regional flowers and don’t miss the numerous charming shops throughout Juan-les-Pins and Antibes.

Day 6

Juan les Pins to Cannes

Travel on the Regional Express train to Cannes (approximate journey time 10 minutes).

Check in at the Croisette Beach Hotel for your 2 night stay.

Experience the luxurious sights and sounds of Cannes, the "star" of the French Riviera. Stop for a drink on La Croisette boulevard, the vibrant seafront street famed for its nightlife, great beaches and boutiques. Drink in the view of the sparkling Mediterranean as well as counting the number of Porsches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris cruising along the streets.

Day 7

Cannes

Thanks to the miles of beaches lining the coast of the French Riviera, there is plenty of opportunity for a bit of sunbathing. Alternatively, the Rue d'Antibes' exclusive boutiques and chic gift shops are perfect for splashing out.

Day 8

Cannes to London

After breakfast, take the TGV back through the French countryside passing through Aix En Provence and Avignon before arriving in Paris. Transfer onto the Eurostar back to London.
