Itinerary - 4 Night Holiday by Rail
Day 1
London to Nice
Travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, then transfer onto the TGV train to Nice. Spend your journey enjoying the sights of picturesque French villages and fields before arriving in Nice under 6 hours later.
Check in on arrival at the Ellington Hotel for your 2 night stay.
Blessed with a sunny, temperate climate, Nice offers beautiful beaches, luxurious seaside dining and plenty of opportunity for shopping and sightseeing.
Day 2
Nice
Spend another full day exploring the charming town of "Nice la belle" (Nice the beautiful). Visit the Chagall and Matisse galleries to experience the colourful works of these two famous French artists. Wander through Vieux Nice to discover traditional French architecture and markets filled with fresh Niçoise delicacies. Alternatively, visit the Palais Massena built in the 19th century and featuring impressionist paintings and folk art.
Day 3
Nice to Menton
Travel from Nice Ville station by Regional-Express to the pretty Mediterranean town of Menton. Trains run every 30 minutes and journey time is approximately 40 minutes.
Check in on arrival at the Napoleon Menton for your 2 night stay.
Menton, known has the "Pearl of France" is a town filled with history and culture. Above the yachts and fishing boats, Menton rises in a tangle of steeped lanes, pink and ochre houses and tall Italianate churches.
Day 4
Menton
Today, why not take an early morning stroll to one of Menton's half dozen beaches or to the beautiful orange and lemon groves within the town's 17th century gardens? Spend an afternoon in the old town (Vieux Port), lined with terrace cafés and medieval architecture surrounding the Eglise St Michel. Alternatively, take a boat ride along the French Riviera to discover more of the beauty of Provence by sea.
Day 5
Menton to London
Travel back to Nice on the Regional-Express train and transfer onto the TGV to Paris. On arrival in Paris, transfer onto the Eurostar for your journey back to London.

Nice
Nice is the capital of the French Riviera and the epitome of Côte d’Azur chic. Wander along the famous beachfront Promenade des Anglais or explore the tiny winding streets of the Old Town and the highly scented flower market. Nice also provided inspiration for some notable artists and you can see some of these represented in the collection at the Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret, which occupies a former private mansion, built in 1878 for a Ukranian princess.
Menton
Menton is a pretty little seaside town. Nicknamed the "Pearl of France", Menton is famous for its ancient history and beautiful orange and lemon groves. Explore the famous botanical gardens or relax on one of the many picturesque beaches in the area.
Ellington Hotel 
The Ellington Hotel in Nice is a newly refurbished hotel with 119 bedrooms and suites. The hotel has a cosy library, a bar and a patio. The hotel is in the centre of Nice, a short walk from Promenade des Anglais, and the old town area.

The Napoleon Menton is a newly renovated hotel set on the seafront of Menton. Have your breakfast or afternoon tea in the leafy shade of the banana trees and exotic plants or enjoy a swim in the outdoor pool. All 33 rooms have either a mountain or sea view and the hotel features its own restaurant which is open all year round and offers fresh regional cuisine. The hotel is located approximately 15-20 walk from Menton train station.
