Itinerary - 6 Night Luxury Holiday by Rail

Day 1

London to Cannes

Travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, then transfer onto the TGV train to Cannes. Spend your journey enjoying the sights of picturesque French villages and fields before arriving in Cannes approximately 5 and a half hours later.

Check in to the stunning Le Grand Hotel Cannes for your 3 night stay. Located on the Croisette, Le Grand features a Michelin starred restaurant, panoramic sea view rooms and a pretty garden overlooking the beach.

Days 2 and 3

Cannes

Experience the luxurious sights and sounds of Cannes, the "star" of the French Riviera. Stop for a drink on La Croisette Boulevard, the vibrant seafront street famed for its nightlife, great beaches and boutiques. Drink in the view of the sparkling Mediterranean as well as counting the number of Porsches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris cruising along the streets.

Day 4

Cannes to Monte Carlo

Take the train from Cannes to Monaco-Monte Carlo (50 minutes by train) where you check in at the luxurious Fairmont Monte Carlo for your 3 night stay. Unwind with a spa treatment, relax by the pool or sample the gorgeous cuisine in the rooftop restaurant.

Days 5 and 6

Monte Carlo

As the second smallest principality in the world and boasting from a stunning location between the Mediterranean and the Southern Alps, Monte Carlo is a fascinating destination to visit. Renowned as a millionaire's playground, Monte Carlo is awash with elegant boutiques, exclusive restaurants and of course, numerous yachts, sports cars and wealthy visitors keen to win at the famous Monte Carlo Casino.

Monte Carlo has plenty of museums and attractions for a cultured break. Visit the Cathedral, Eglise Sainte Dévôte (an 11th century chapel) and Musée de la Chapelle de la Visitation which houses works by Rubens and Ribera.

Day 7

Monte Carlo to London

After breakfast, hop aboard the local train to Cannes, travelling back past along the beautiful French Riviera. Transfer onto the TGV service to Paris. Stop briefly in Paris for lunch or continue straight back to London via Eurostar.

One of the best known destinations on the French Riviera, Cannes is famous for its luxury boutiques, its palm lined seafront promenade - the boulevard de la Croisette, and for its annual festival which draws an influx of celebrity visitors each May. You can visit the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, where the event is held, visit one of the city’s famous villas or relax on the beach. Don’t miss a daytrip out to the Île Sainte-Marguerite where ‘the Man in the Iron Mask’ was reputedly imprisoned.

Monte Carlo

Monaco is an independent Principality, ruled by the Grimaldi family. Try your luck at the famous casino or admire huge luxury yachts in the Port de Monaco. Explore the Royal Palace overlooking the port, or follow the streets of the famous road race course.
