Itinerary - 4 Night Holiday by Air + Rail

Day 1

London to Paris

Take an early Eurostar from London to Paris so you can spend a day sightseeing in the French capital. In the evening, head to the Gare de Lyon to catch the new Thello sleeper service to Venice.

Settle into your private compartment and relax as the train heads out of the Paris suburbs and into the French départements of Bourgogne and Rhône-Alpes.

Days 2 to 4

Venice

Arrive into Venice Santa Lucia station in the morning and check in to the Ai Mori d' Oriente Hotel for a 3 night stay.

Venice, ‘the floating city’ still casts its spell on throngs of visitors each year as it has done for centuries. The city is made up of 117 islands stretched across the Venetian lagoon and has long been hailed as one of the most beautiful and exceptional cities in the world.

Discover the Queen of the Adriatic for yourself with a stroll through the city’s labyrinthine streets, bridges and campos, a gondola ride down the Grand Canal, or by just sitting in a pavement café and enjoying the spectacular cityscape.

Day 5

Venice to London

After breakfast in the hotel, travel by road or across the Venetian Lagoon to Marco Polo Airport for your flight back to London Gatwick.

The Thello night train is run by Veolia Transdev and Trenitalia. Your holiday includes a two berth private sleeping compartment with bedding and washing facilities. Toilets are a shared facility at the end of the carriage. There is a restaurant car serving an Italian themed menu in the evening and your ticket includes a small breakfast, which is served here in the morning.

The Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel is a historic hotel set in a palace which was once home to Turkish merchants, known as the 'Mori'. The hotel and bedrooms are decorated in an exotic Byzantine style throughout; the Ai Mori d'Oriente also has a bar and a relaxing reading room. The hotel is located in one of the quietest parts of the city called Cannaregio, within walking distance of all the main sights.
