Travel on Eurostar from London to Brussels where you transfer onto the local train to Amsterdam. On arrival in Amsterdam check-in at the Hampshire Rembrandt Square Hotel Amsterdam for an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and spend the morning in Amsterdam before boarding the ship in the early afternoon. Settle into your category E cabin before having the rest of the afternoon free to further explore the city.
Hiring a bike is a great way to get around Amsterdam. There are dedicated bike paths throughout the city and bikes are available to hire from around €8 per day.
This morning, sail to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a tour of the ingenious network of windmills and other flood management devices.
Return to the ship for lunch, and the rest of the day is free to explore Kinderdijk at your leisure. You then cruise through the night as the ship makes its way towards Cologne.
The ship arrives in Cologne in the morning and you disembark for a city tour. After the city tour, spend the rest of the afternoon discovering all Cologne has to offer. Relax in one of Cologne's traditional bars with a glass of speciality beer, Kolsch, or climb the famous Dom for fabulous views across the city!
Visit the wonderful museums such as the Fragrance Museum or the Chocolate Museum or marvel at one of the 12 great Romanesque churches in the inner city. Lunch and dinner are both served onboard and the ship departs Cologne at midnight.
Today is spent cruising along the picturesque Rhine River. Enjoy the views as you cruise past hilltop castles along the Rhine, before stopping off in Koblenz to visit Marksburg, which is the only Rhine castle never to be destroyed.
After the tour, continue cruising along the UNESCO World Heritage Site section of the Rhine. Look out for historic castles nestling in the famous vineyards of the Rhine valley. You will then pass the legendary rock of the Lorelei. Lunch and dinner are served onboard.
Enjoy breakfast onboard and admire the views as you sail along the beautiful Main River as it winds its way through the Spessart region. Lunch is served onboard before you make a stop in Miltenberg, which is known for its half-timbered houses, including the oldest in Germany.
You are taken on a guided walking tour of the city and have some free time to explore. Return to the ship for lunch and in the afternoon, enjoy a live demonstration of the region's glassblowing traditions.
Dinner is served onboard as you sail through the night towards Wurzburg.
After breakfast on the ship you are taken on a tour of Wurzburg's Bishop's Residenz, which is one of Germany's largest baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Enjoy the views as you spend the rest of the afternoon cruising along the Rhine. Dinner is served on the ship as you are a given a presentation about the European Union.
Spend the morning sailing and after lunch enjoy a walking tour of Bamberg, with its medieval city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour includes a visit to the 11th-century cathedral and the picturesque city hall which was built on a small island in the middle of a river.
Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Bamberg at your leisure before returning to the ship for dinner.
After breakfast on the ship you disembark in Nuremberg. Visit the Palace of Justice and also visit the ruins of Zeppelin Field which was used in the 1930s as Nazi parade grounds.
After the tour you have some free time to explore Nuremberg's old town area or you may choose to join an optional World War II history tour.
The ship departs Nuremberg just before dinner.
Arrive in Regensburg in the late morning. After lunch on the ship enjoy a tour of this wonderfully preserved medieval city. Regensburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and many of the structures date back to Roman times. Explore a variety of 13th- and 14th-century houses and visit the picturesque St. Peter’s Cathedral. Dinner is served aboard before you depart in the evening.
On arrival in Passau enjoy a morning walking tour of the city. See Passau’s narrow streets and Italianate architecture, and marvel at the Veste Oberhaus, a 13th-century fortress. After the tour, listen to a concert on Europe’s largest pipe organ in St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Take some time in the afternoon to explore some more of Passau before returning to the ship for dinner.
Arrive in Melk in the morning. After breakfast, visit the abbey, a 900-year-old Benedictine monastery. Rejoin the ship for lunch as you cruise through the spectacular Wachau Valley in the afternoon. Before dinner, you have free time to explore Dürnstein. Marvel at Kuenringer Castle, or sample some local vintages from this famous wine-producing region.
Today is spent in Vienna. Ride along Vienna’s Ringstrasse, which replaced the city walls in the mid-19th century. You also get to visit Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Hofburg Palace and St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Return to the ship for lunch. The rest of the day is yours to further explore Vienna’s many cafés and museums at leisure. After dinner, enjoy an optional classical concert in Vienna.
Arrive in Bratislava early and embark on a walking tour of Slovakia’s charming capital city. Visit attractions such as the medieval fortifications at Michael’s Tower and Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. You also pass by several baroque palaces before returning to the ship for an afternoon of scenic cruising. You arrive in Budapest late in the evening.
You get to spend today discovering all Budapest has to offer. The Danube River divides this Hungarian capital city into “Buda” and “Pest.” Explore both parts during your time here. Visit the National Opera House and take a stroll to Fishermen’s Hill to Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church. Enjoy lunch aboard before you have the rest of the afternoon to explore Budapest at your leisure. Return to the ship for a traditional Hungarian farewell dinner.
After breakfast, you disembark the ship and are transferred to the airport where you fly with British Airways in Euro Traveller Class from Budapest to London.

Nuremberg is a buzzing Bavarian city with a beautiful medieval Old Town, dominated by its imposing castle which dates back to the 11th century. Take a tour here and visit the castle museum as well as the pretty streets of merchants’ houses enclosed in the Burgviertel (Castle Quarter). There are also superb views to be had from the towers and ramparts. Elsewhere, the Nazi Party Rally Grounds offer an insight into the city’s more recent history. Regensburg is best known for being Germany's best-preserved medieval city. There are many beautiful churches and impressive architectural monuments which still show the wealth of this previous medieval trading town. Take a stroll through the medieval old town or relax in one of the many parks and gardens throughout the city.
Passau is located in a beautiful setting at the junction of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz Rivers. Enjoy a walk around the old town and explore the narrow pedestrian streets. Passau was an important medieval trade and shipping centre which now has a lively and cosmopolitan feel about it.
The elegant city of Vienna is a haven for art lovers, with fabulous galleries ranging from the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the unique collection of Klimt works at the Belvedere Palace to temporary exhibitions at the Kunsthaus, designed by architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Music buffs will also be in their element with a huge choice of classical concerts featuring local heroes such as Johann Strauss, Mozart and Schubert. Don’t miss a slice of Sacher torte accompanied by a traditional Viennese coffee at the Sacher Hotel.
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and is also the country's largest city. The castle dominates over the city of Bratislava on a hill overlooking the river Danube. During your stay in Bratislava it is also worth visiting the Primatial Palace, St. Martin's Dome and Michael's Gate.
Hungary’s historic capital, Budapest has a huge amount to offer, from grand architecture to world-class museums. There are also over a dozen thermal spas to choose from, of which the Széchenyi Baths are the oldest, largest and grandest. Visit the Hungarian Parliament, one of Europe’s oldest legislative buildings containing Hungary’s crown jewels or climb Gellért Hill for fabulous views of the majestic Buda Castle and Széchenyi Chain Bridge.
The Viking Europe Ship
The Viking Europe ship is one of four sister ships that were launched in 2001. It features a beautifully designed layout of public areas and a wraparound deck that gives you the opportunity to enjoy scenery in the open air any time you wish. The ship can accommodate 150 guests in spacious staterooms, most with windows that open. The ship also has a bar, restaurant and walk-around, open air promenade deck.
Food & Drink
The on board chefs freshly prepare the food for you. For breakfast choose from a selection of pastries, cereals, breakfast meats, fresh fruit and selected cheeses. The Hampshire Rembrandt Square Hotel Amsterdam is a modern hotel with 166 trendy bedrooms, all of which have air conditioning. All bedrooms have modern facilities such as an LCD TV and a modern bathroom which has a bath and a separate rain shower. After a busy day sightseeing, relax and enjoy a meal in the hotel's Brasserie Flo restaurant. The hotel is centrally located and is close to a number of museums, restaurants and bars. After breakfast on the ship you disembark in Nuremberg. Visit the Palace of Justice and also visit the ruins of Zeppelin Field which was used in the 1930's as Nazi parade grounds.
After the tour you have some free time to explore Nuremberg's old town area or you may choose to join an optional World War II history tour.

You arrive in Regensburg in the late morning. After lunch on the ship enjoy a tour of this wonderfully preserved medieval city. Regensburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and many of the structures date back to Roman times. Explore a variety of 13th- and 14th-century houses and visit the picturesque St. Peter’s Cathedral. Dinner is served aboard before you depart in the evening.
On arrival in Passau enjoy a morning walking tour of the city. See Passau’s narrow streets and Italianate architecture, and marvel at the Veste Oberhaus, a 13th-century fortress. Then, listen to a concert on Europe’s largest pipe organ in St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Take some time in the afternoon to explore some more of Passau before returning to the ship for dinner.
You arrive in Melk in the morning. After breakfast, visit the abbey, a 900-year-old Benedictine monastery. Rejoin the ship for lunch as you cruise through the spectacular Wachau Valley in the afternoon. Before dinner, you have free time to explore Dürnstein. Marvel at Kuenringer Castle, or sample some local vintages from this famous wine-producing region.
Today is spent in Vienna. Ride along Vienna’s Ringstrasse, which replaced the city walls in the mid-19th century. You also get to visit Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Hofburg Palace and St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Return to the ship for lunch. The rest of the day is yours to further explore Vienna’s many cafés and museums at leisure. After dinner, enjoy an optional classical concert in Vienna.
Arrive in Bratislava early and embark on a walking tour of Slovakia’s charming capital city. Visit attractions such as the medieval fortifications at Michael’s Tower and Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. You also pass by several baroque palaces before returning to the ship for an afternoon of scenic cruising. You arrive in Budapest late in the evening.
You get to spend today discovering all Budapest has to offer. The Danube River divides this Hungarian capital city into “Buda” and “Pest.” Explore both parts during your time here. Visit the National Opera House and take a stroll to Fishermen’s Hill to Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church. Enjoy lunch aboard before you have the rest of the afternoon to explore Budapest at your leisure. Return to the ship for a traditional Hungarian farewell dinner.
After breakfast, you disembark the ship and are transferred to the airport where you fly with British Airways in Euro Traveller Class from Budapest to London.

Amsterdam is a multifaceted city, with something for every traveller’s taste. It’s packed with culture, history and architecture and boasts one of the largest historic centres in Europe. Amsterdam has around seven thousand registered historic buildings and an impressive collection of museums. These include the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, offering a large collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. Don’t miss a boat ride along the city’s historic canals.
There is a lot to see and do in this famous Rhineland city. Cologne Cathedral dominates the skyline and is a good place to start your exploration as it's right outside the station! Admire the imposing Gothic architecture of this huge monument and climb up the South tower for spectacular views. Visit the Old Town for some retail therapy and a glass of local beer, Kolsch. And don't miss a trip to the Chocolate Museum along the Rhine.
Koblenz is situated at the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) where the confluences of the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. Its idyllic location as well as the wealth of castles, palaces and other well preserved buildings makes this a wonderful place to explore. Wander through the narrow streets and pretty squares of the Old Town. Cross the river to visit the Ehrenbreitstein fortress or simply walk along the riverfront, admiring the views.
Wurzburg is a vibrant university town located in an idyllic setting surrounded by vineyards. The main places of interest are the 18th century prince bishops' Residenz Palace and the Marienberg Citadel, which is the town's landmark and is situated high above the Main Valley. The Cathedral of St Kilian in the historical old quarter is also worth a visit during your time in Wurzburg.
Nuremberg is a buzzing Bavarian city with a beautiful medieval Old Town, dominated by its imposing castle which dates back to the 11th century. Take a tour here and visit the castle museum as well as the pretty streets of merchants’ houses enclosed in the Burgviertel (Castle Quarter). There are also superb views to be had from the towers and ramparts. Elsewhere, the Nazi Party Rally Grounds offer an insight into the city’s more recent history. Don’t leave without trying some dark Bavarian beer.
Regensburg is best known for being Germany's best-preserved medieval city. There are many beautiful churches and impressive architectural monuments which still show the wealth of this previous medieval trading town. Take a stroll through the medieval old town or relax in one of the many parks and gardens throughout the city.
Passau is located in a beautiful setting at the junction of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz Rivers. Enjoy a walk around the old town and explore the narrow pedestrian streets. Passau was an important medieval trade and shipping centre which now has a lively and cosmopolitan feel about it.
The elegant city of Vienna is a haven for art lovers, with fabulous galleries ranging from the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the unique collection of Klimt works at the Belvedere Palace to temporary exhibitions at the Kunsthaus, designed by architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Music buffs will also be in their element with a huge choice of classical concerts featuring local heroes such as Johann Strauss, Mozart and Schubert. Don’t miss a slice of Sacher torte accompanied by a traditional Viennese coffee at the Sacher Hotel.
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and is also the country's largest city. The castle dominates over the city of Bratislava on a hill overlooking the river Danube. During your stay in Bratislava it is also worth visiting the Primatial Palace, St. Martin's Dome and Michael's Gate.
Hungary’s historic capital, Budapest has a huge amount to offer, from grand architecture to world-class museums. There are also over a dozen thermal spas to choose from, of which the Széchenyi Baths are the oldest, largest and grandest. Visit the Hungarian Parliament, one of Europe’s oldest legislative buildings containing Hungary’s crown jewels or climb Gellért Hill for fabulous views of the majestic Buda Castle and Széchenyi Chain Bridge.
The Viking Europe Ship
The Viking Europe ship is one of four sister ships that were launched in 2001. It features a beautifully designed layout of public areas and a wraparound deck that gives you the opportunity to enjoy scenery in the open air any time you wish. The ship can accommodate 150 guests in spacious staterooms, most with windows that open. The ship also has a bar, restaurant and walk-around, open air promenade deck.

The Hampshire Rembrandt Square Hotel Amsterdam is a modern hotel with 166 trendy bedrooms, all of which have air conditioning. After a busy day sightseeing, relax and enjoy a meal in the hotel's Brasserie Flo restaurant. The hotel is centrally located and is close to a number of museums, restaurants and bars. Hiring a bike is a great way to get around Amsterdam. There are dedicated bike paths throughout the city and bikes are available to hire from around €8 per day.
This morning you sail to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a tour of the ingenious network of windmills and other flood management devices.
Return to the ship for lunch, and the rest of the day is free to explore Kinderdijk at your leisure. You then cruise through the night as the ship makes its way towards Cologne.
The ship arrives in Cologne in the morning and you depart for a city tour. After the city tour, spend the rest of the afternoon discovering all Cologne has to offer. The rest of the day is yours to further explore Vienna’s many cafés and museums at leisure. After dinner, enjoy an optional classical concert in Vienna.
Arrive in Bratislava early and embark on a walking tour of Slovakia’s charming capital city. Visit attractions such as the medieval fortifications at Michael’s Tower and Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. You also pass by several baroque palaces before returning to the ship for an afternoon of scenic cruising. You arrive in Budapest late in the evening.
You get to spend today discovering all Budapest has to offer. The Danube River divides this Hungarian capital city into “Buda” and “Pest.” Explore both parts during your time here. Visit the National Opera House and take a stroll to Fishermen’s Hill to Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church. Enjoy lunch aboard before you have the rest of the afternoon to explore Budapest at your leisure. Return to the ship for a traditional Hungarian farewell dinner.
After breakfast, you disembark the ship and are transferred to the airport where you fly with British Airways in Euro Traveller Class from Budapest to London.

Amsterdam is a multifaceted city, with something for every traveller’s taste. It’s packed with culture, history and architecture and boasts one of the largest historic centres in Europe. Amsterdam has around seven thousand registered historic buildings and an impressive collection of museums. These include the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, offering a large collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. Don’t miss a boat ride along the city’s historic canals.
There is a lot to see and do in this famous Rhineland city. Cologne Cathedral dominates the skyline and is a good place to start your exploration as it's right outside the station! Admire the imposing Gothic architecture of this huge monument and climb up the South tower for spectacular views. Visit the Old Town for some retail therapy and a glass of local beer, Kolsch. And don't miss a trip to the Chocolate Museum along the Rhine.
Koblenz is situated at the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) where the confluences of the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. Its idyllic location as well as the wealth of castles, palaces and other well preserved buildings makes this a wonderful place to explore. Wander through the narrow streets and pretty squares of the Old Town. Cross the river to visit the Ehrenbreitstein fortress or simply walk along the riverfront, admiring the views.
Wurzburg is a vibrant university town located in an idyllic setting surrounded by vineyards. The main places of interest are the 18th century prince bishops' Residenz Palace and the Marienberg Citadel, which is the town's landmark and is situated high above the Main Valley. The Cathedral of St Kilian in the historical old quarter is also worth a visit during your time in Wurzburg.
Nuremberg is a buzzing Bavarian city with a beautiful medieval Old Town, dominated by its imposing castle which dates back to the 11th century. Take a tour here and visit the castle museum as well as the pretty streets of merchants’ houses enclosed in the Burgviertel (Castle Quarter). There are also superb views to be had from the towers and ramparts. Elsewhere, the Nazi Party Rally Grounds offer an insight into the city’s more recent history. Don’t leave without trying some dark Bavarian beer.
Regensburg is best known for being Germany's best-preserved medieval city. There are many beautiful churches and impressive architectural monuments which still show the wealth of this previous medieval trading town. Take a stroll through the medieval old town or relax in one of the many parks and gardens throughout the city.
Passau is located in a beautiful setting at the junction of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz Rivers. Enjoy a walk around the old town and explore the narrow pedestrian streets. Passau was an important medieval trade and shipping centre which now has a lively and cosmopolitan feel about it.
The elegant city of Vienna is a haven for art lovers, with fabulous galleries ranging from the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the unique collection of Klimt works at the Belvedere Palace to temporary exhibitions at the Kunsthaus, designed by architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Music buffs will also be in their element with a huge choice of classical concerts featuring local heroes such as Johann Strauss, Mozart and Schubert. Don’t miss a slice of Sacher torte accompanied by a traditional Viennese coffee at the Sacher Hotel.
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and is also the country's largest city. The castle dominates over the city of Bratislava on a hill overlooking the river Danube. During your stay in Bratislava it is also worth visiting the Primatial Palace, St. Martin's Dome and Michael's Gate.
Hungary’s historic capital, Budapest has a huge amount to offer, from grand architecture to world-class museums. There are also over a dozen thermal spas to choose from, of which the Széchenyi Baths are the oldest, largest and grandest. Visit the Hungarian Parliament, one of Europe’s oldest legislative buildings containing Hungary’s crown jewels or climb Gellért Hill for fabulous views of the majestic Buda Castle and Széchenyi Chain Bridge.
The Viking Europe Ship
The Viking Europe ship is one of four sister ships that were launched in 2001. It features a beautifully designed layout of public areas and a wraparound deck that gives you the opportunity to enjoy scenery in the open air any time you wish. The ship can accommodate 150 guests in spacious staterooms, most with windows that open. The ship also has a bar, restaurant and walk-around, open air promenade deck.

The on board chefs freshly prepare the food for you. For breakfast choose from a selection of pastries, cereals, breakfast meats, fresh fruit and selected cheeses. The Hampshire Rembrandt Square Hotel Amsterdam is a modern hotel with 166 trendy bedrooms, all of which have air conditioning. Travel on Eurostar from London to Brussels where you transfer onto the local train to Amsterdam. On arrival in Amsterdam check-in at the Hampshire Rembrandt Square Hotel Amsterdam for an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and spend the morning in Amsterdam before you board the ship in the early afternoon. Settle into your category B cabin before having the rest of the afternoon to further explore the city.
Hiring a bike is a great way to get around Amsterdam. There are dedicated bike paths throughout the city and bikes are available to hire from around €8 per day.
This morning you sail to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a tour of the ingenious network of windmills and other flood management devices.
Return to the ship for lunch, and the rest of the day is free to explore Kinderdijk at your leisure. You then cruise through the night as the ship makes its way towards Cologne.
The ship arrives in Cologne in the morning and you depart for a city tour. After the city tour, spend the rest of the afternoon discovering all Cologne has to offer. Relax in one of Cologne's traditional bars with a glass of speciality beer, Kolsch, or climb the famous Dom for fabulous views across the city!
Visit the wonderful museums such as the Fragrance Museum or the Chocolate Museum or marvel at one of the 12 great Romanesque churches in the inner city. Lunch and dinner are both served onboard and the ship departs Cologne at midnight.
Today is spent cruising along the picturesque Rhine River. Enjoy the views as you cruise past hilltop castles along the Rhine, before stopping off in Koblenz to visit Marksburg, which is the only Rhine castle never to be destroyed.
After the tour, continue cruising along the UNESCO World Heritage Site section of the Rhine. Look out for historic castles nestling in the famous vineyards of the Rhine valley. You will then pass the legendary rock of the Lorelei. Lunch and dinner is served aboard.
Enjoy breakfast onboard and admire the views as you sail along the beautiful Main River as it winds its way through the Spessart region. Lunch is served onboard and you then stop in Miltenberg, which is known for its half-timbered houses, including the oldest in Germany.
You are taken on a guided walking tour of the city and have some free time to explore. Return to the ship for lunch and you are then given a live demonstration of the region's glassblowing traditions.
Dinner is served onboard as you sail through the night towards Wurzburg.
After breakfast on the ship you are taken on a tour of Wurzburg's Bishop's Residenz, which is one of Germany's largest baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Enjoy the views as you spend the rest of the afternoon cruising along the Rhine. Dinner is served on the ship as you are a given a presentation about the European Union.
Spend the morning sailing and after lunch you are taken on a walking tour of Bamberg, with its medieval city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour includes a visit to the 11th-century cathedral and the picturesque city hall which was built on a small island in the middle of a river.
Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Bamberg at your leisure before returning to the ship for dinner.
After breakfast on the ship you disembark in Nuremberg. Visit the Palace of Justice and also visit the ruins of Zeppelin Field which was used in the 1930's as Nazi parade grounds.
After the tour you have some free time to explore Nuremberg's old town area or you may choose to join an optional World War II history tour.

Regensburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and many of the structures date back to Roman times. Explore a variety of 13th- and 14th-century houses and visit the picturesque St. Peter’s Cathedral. Dinner is served aboard before you depart in the evening.
On arrival in Passau enjoy a morning walking tour of the city. See Passau’s narrow streets and Italianate architecture, and marvel at the Veste Oberhaus, a 13th-century fortress. Then, listen to a concert on Europe’s largest pipe organ in St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Take some time in the afternoon to explore some more of Passau before returning to the ship for dinner.
You arrive in Melk in the morning. After breakfast, visit the abbey, a 900-year-old Benedictine monastery. Rejoin the ship for lunch as you cruise through the spectacular Wachau Valley in the afternoon. Before dinner, you have free time to explore Dürnstein. Marvel at Kuenringer Castle, or sample some local vintages from this famous wine-producing region.

Take a tour here and visit the castle museum as well as the pretty streets of merchants’ houses enclosed in the Burgviertel (Castle Quarter). There are also superb views to be had from the towers and ramparts. Elsewhere, the Nazi Party Rally Grounds offer an insight into the city’s more recent history. Don’t leave without trying some dark Bavarian beer.
Regensburg is best known for being Germany's best-preserved medieval city. There are many beautiful churches and impressive architectural monuments which still show the wealth of this previous medieval trading town. Take a stroll through the medieval old town or relax in one of the many parks and gardens throughout the city.
Passau is located in a beautiful setting at the junction of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz Rivers. Enjoy a walk around the old town and explore the narrow pedestrian streets. Passau was an important medieval trade and shipping centre which now has a lively and cosmopolitan feel about it.
The elegant city of Vienna is a haven for art lovers, with fabulous galleries ranging from the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the unique collection of Klimt works at the Belvedere Palace to temporary exhibitions at the Kunsthaus, designed by architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Music buffs will also be in their element with a huge choice of classical concerts featuring local heroes such as Johann Strauss, Mozart and Schubert. Don’t miss a slice of Sacher torte accompanied by a traditional Viennese coffee at the Sacher Hotel.
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and is also the country's largest city. The castle dominates over the city of Bratislava on a hill overlooking the river Danube. During your stay in Bratislava it is also worth visiting the Primatial Palace, St. Martin's Dome and Michael's Gate.
Hungary’s historic capital, Budapest has a huge amount to offer, from grand architecture to world-class museums. There are also over a dozen thermal spas to choose from, of which the Széchenyi Baths are the oldest, largest and grandest. Visit the Hungarian Parliament, one of Europe’s oldest legislative buildings containing Hungary’s crown jewels or climb Gellért Hill for fabulous views of the majestic Buda Castle and Széchenyi Chain Bridge.
The Viking Europe Ship
The Viking Europe ship is one of four sister ships that were launched in 2001. It features a beautifully designed layout of public areas and a wraparound deck that gives you the opportunity to enjoy scenery in the open air any time you wish. The ship can accommodate 150 guests in spacious staterooms, most with windows that open. The ship also has a bar, restaurant and walk-around, open air promenade deck.

Travel on Eurostar from London to Brussels where you transfer onto the local train to Amsterdam. On arrival in Amsterdam check-in at the Hampshire Rembrandt Square Hotel Amsterdam for an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and spend the morning in Amsterdam before you board the ship in the early afternoon. Settle into your category A cabin before having the rest of the afternoon to further explore the city.
Hiring a bike is a great way to get around Amsterdam. There are dedicated bike paths throughout the city and bikes are available to hire from around €8 per day.
This morning you sail to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a tour of the ingenious network of windmills and other flood management devices.
Return to the ship for lunch, and the rest of the day is free to explore Kinderdijk at your leisure. You then cruise through the night as the ship makes its way towards Cologne.
The ship arrives in Cologne in the morning and you depart for a city tour. After the city tour, spend the rest of the afternoon discovering all Cologne has to offer. Relax in one of Cologne's traditional bars with a glass of speciality beer, Kolsch, or climb the famous Dom for fabulous views across the city!
Visit the wonderful museums such as the Fragrance Museum or the Chocolate Museum or marvel at one of the 12 great Romanesque churches in the inner city. Lunch and dinner are both served onboard and the ship departs Cologne at midnight.
Today is spent cruising along the picturesque Rhine River. Enjoy the views as you cruise past hilltop castles along the Rhine, before stopping off in Koblenz to visit Marksburg, which is the only Rhine castle never to be destroyed.
After the tour, continue cruising along the UNESCO World Heritage Site section of the Rhine. Look out for historic castles nestling in the famous vineyards of the Rhine valley. You will then pass the legendary rock of the Lorelei. Lunch and dinner is served aboard.
Enjoy breakfast onboard and admire the views as you sail along the beautiful Main River as it winds its way through the Spessart region. Lunch is served onboard and you then stop in Miltenberg, which is known for its half-timbered houses, including the oldest in Germany.
You are taken on a guided walking tour of the city and have some free time to explore. Return to the ship for lunch and you are then given a live demonstration of the region's glassblowing traditions.
Dinner is served onboard as you sail through the night towards Wurzburg.
After breakfast on the ship you are taken on a tour of Wurzburg's Bishop's Residenz, which is one of Germany's largest baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Enjoy the views as you spend the rest of the afternoon cruising along the Rhine. Dinner is served on the ship as you are a given a presentation about the European Union.
Spend the morning sailing and after lunch you are taken on a walking tour of Bamberg, with its medieval city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour includes a visit to the 11th-century cathedral and the picturesque city hall which was built on a small island in the middle of a river.
Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Bamberg at your leisure before returning to the ship for dinner.
After breakfast on the ship you disembark in Nuremberg. Visit the Palace of Justice and also visit the ruins of Zeppelin Field which was used in the 1930's as Nazi parade grounds.
After the tour you have some free time to explore Nuremberg's old town area or you may choose to join an optional World War II history tour.
The ship departs Nuremberg just before dinner.
You arrive in Regensburg in the late morning. After lunch on the ship enjoy a tour of this wonderfully preserved medieval city. Regensburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and many of the structures date back to Roman times. Explore a variety of 13th- and 14th-century houses and visit the picturesque St. Peter’s Cathedral. Dinner is served aboard before you depart in the evening.
On arrival in Passau enjoy a morning walking tour of the city. See Passau’s narrow streets and Italianate architecture, and marvel at the Veste Oberhaus, a 13th-century fortress. Then, listen to a concert on Europe’s largest pipe organ in St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Take some time in the afternoon to explore some more of Passau before returning to the ship for dinner.
You arrive in Melk in the morning. After breakfast, visit the abbey, a 900-year-old Benedictine monastery. Rejoin the ship for lunch as you cruise through the spectacular Wachau Valley in the afternoon. Before dinner, you have free time to explore Dürnstein. Marvel at Kuenringer Castle, or sample some local vintages from this famous wine-producing region.
Today is spent in Vienna. Ride along Vienna’s Ringstrasse, which replaced the city walls in the mid-19th century. You also get to visit Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Hofburg Palace and St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Return to the ship for lunch. The rest of the day is yours to further explore Vienna’s many cafés and museums at leisure. After dinner, enjoy an optional classical concert in Vienna.
Arrive in Bratislava early and embark on a walking tour of Slovakia’s charming capital city. Visit attractions such as the medieval fortifications at Michael’s Tower and Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. You also pass by several baroque palaces before returning to the ship for an afternoon of scenic cruising. You arrive in Budapest late in the evening.
You get to spend today discovering all Budapest has to offer. The Danube River divides this Hungarian capital city into “Buda” and “Pest.” Explore both parts during your time here. Visit the National Opera House and take a stroll to Fishermen’s Hill to Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church. Enjoy lunch aboard before you have the rest of the afternoon to explore Budapest at your leisure. Return to the ship for a traditional Hungarian farewell dinner.
After breakfast, you disembark the ship and are transferred to the airport where you fly with British Airways in Euro Traveller Class from Budapest to London.

The Viking Europe Ship
The Viking Europe ship is one of four sister ships that were launched in 2001. It features a beautifully designed layout of public areas and a wraparound deck that gives you the opportunity to enjoy scenery in the open air any time you wish. The ship can accommodate 150 guests in spacious staterooms, most with windows that open. The ship also has a bar, restaurant and walk-around, open air promenade deck.
Food & Drink
The on board chefs freshly prepare the food for you. For breakfast choose from a selection of pastries, cereals, breakfast meats, fresh fruit and selected cheeses. Alternatively you can have a hot dish prepared to order. For lunch, you can select from the soup and sandwich bar, or a choice of entrées and dessert. For dinner enjoy a 5-course gourmet menu with regional specialities. There is also a choice of regional wines to complement your meal.
Staterooms
There are 5 different stateroom categories on this Viking Europe deluxe ship. These range from category E staterooms to category A staterooms.
Category E Staterooms
Category E Staterooms are 120 sq ft in size and are all located on the lower deck of the ship. They have one standard-size single bed and one sofa bed. These staterooms have a half high window that cannot be opened. They have a private bathroom with shower and they also have a telephone, in-room safe & hair dryer. Each stateroom has air-conditioning, space under beds for storing suitcases, a wardrobe and TV with CNN, BBC and other English channels.
Category D Staterooms
Category D Staterooms are 154 sq ft in size and are all located on the main deck of the ship. They have hotel style beds and a large panoramic window that cannot be opened. They have a private bathroom with shower and they also have a telephone, in-room safe & hair dryer. Each stateroom has air-conditioning, space under beds for storing suitcases, a wardrobe and TV with CNN, BBC and other English channels.
Category C Staterooms
Category C Staterooms are 154 sq ft in size and are all located on the main deck of the ship. They have hotel style beds and a large panoramic window that cannot be opened. They have a private bathroom with shower and they also have a telephone, in-room safe & hair dryer. Category A Staterooms
Category A Staterooms are 154 sq ft in size and are all located on the upper deck of the ship. They have hotel style beds and a large panoramic window that can be opened. They have a private bathroom with enclosed shower and they also have a telephone, in-room safe & hair dryer. Each stateroom has air-conditioning, space under beds for storing suitcases, a wardrobe and TV with CNN, BBC and other English channels.
The Hampshire Rembrandt Square Hotel Amsterdam is a modern hotel with 166 trendy bedrooms, all of which have air conditioning. All bedrooms have modern facilities such as an LCD TV and a modern bathroom which has a bath and a separate rain shower. After a busy day sightseeing, relax and enjoy a meal in the hotel's Brasserie Flo restaurant. The hotel is centrally located and is close to a number of museums, restaurants and bars. The hotel is also close to Rembrandt Square.
