As you journey through the spectacular scenery of the Drakensberg Mountains, descend 14kms through switchbacks, tunnels and along the Eastern Line, opened by Paul Kruger in 1895 and built alongside the incredible Crocodile River Valley. Overnight in the attractive town of Nelspruit, set amidst charming orange groves.

Day 2

Kruger National Park and Hans Merensky Golf

Covering 1,963 square kilometres and home to 147 types of mammal, the Kruger is an incredible park. Keep watch for the leopards and powerful rhinos who make their home here.

Return back to the train and journey through the picturesque northern lowveld from the famous mineral town, Phalaborwa to the border town of Komatipport lying between South Africa and Mozambique. Travel through two famous koppies (hills), Sealane and Kgpolwe now known as national monuments and journey onwards to Swaziland.

Keep your eyes peeled for lions, cheetahs and giraffes as you drive through the park.

Once back on the Pride of Africa, settle down for a High Tea in the lounge as the train heads towards Durban. Travel through the Valley of a Thousand Hills, the battlefields of the infamous Boer War, and Pietermaritzburg, home to the wars between the Zulus and the Voortrekkers.

Overnight in Mpaka located on the northern border of Swaziland.

Enjoy fresh coffee, pastries and fruit for breakfast before embarking on a game drive in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. Once a hunting ground of Zulu kings, the beautiful Hluhluwe River meanders through the centre of the reserve offering rich grazing and a variety of species.

Blue green meadows, lush valleys and dairy farms dot the landscape along your journey.

Arrive in Durban where the “Pride of Africa” will spend the night.

Day 5

Durban and The Country Club Beachwood Golf Course

Overnight in the attractive town of Nelspruit, set amidst charming orange groves.

Day 2

Kruger National Park and Hans Merensky Golf

After a substantial continental breakfast, golfers will transfer to the Hans Merensky Golf Course. Non-golfers will make their way to the world-famous Kruger National Park.

Overnight in Mpaka located on the northern border of Swaziland.

Day 3

Watch out for rare species such as the black and white rhino, sable antelope and African elephant.

Return to the train and spend the evening travelling through the Hluhluwe valley and Golela famous for its sugar cane plantations. Unwind in the cosy lounge before retiring to your suite for a well-earned rest.

Day 4

Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve

Enjoy fresh coffee, pastries and fruit for breakfast before embarking on a game drive in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. Once a hunting ground of Zulu kings, the beautiful Hluhluwe River meanders through the centre of the reserve offering rich grazing and a variety of species.

Blue green meadows, lush valleys and dairy farms dot the landscape along your journey.

Arrive in Durban where the “Pride of Africa” will spend the night.

Day 5

Durban and The Country Club Beachwood Golf Course

Arrive in Estcourt, where the train will stop overnight.
