Travel by Eurostar from London to Brussels, the approximate journey time is 1 hour 51 minutes. In Brussels transfer onto the train to Ghent which takes approximately 30 minutes. On arrival in Ghent, check in at the Novotel Gent Centrum.
You then have two days to explore this charming university city. Medieval cobbled streets and the picturesque river Lei are the centre piece. Dive in to the small streets and back alleys around Zeuterzusterstraat for some of the best dining in Belgium.
The bars and cafés around the Vrijdaagmarkt are great for people watching. If it's shopping therapy you need then Ghent has an abundance of boutique clothes shops - head to the Kouter area.
