Itinerary - 4 Night Holiday by Rail
Days 1 and 2
Ghent
Travel by Eurostar from London to Brussels, the approximate journey time is 1 hour 51 minutes. In Brussels transfer onto the train to Ghent which takes approximately 30 minutes. On arrival in Ghent, check in at the Novotel Gent Centrum.
You then have two days to explore this charming university city. Medieval cobbled streets and the picturesque river Lei are the centre piece. Dive in to the small streets and back alleys around Zeuterzusterstraat for some of the best dining in Belgium.
The bars and cafés around the Vrijdaagmarkt are great for people watching. If it's shopping therapy you need then Ghent has an abundance of boutique clothes shops - head to the Kouter area.
Days 3 and 4
Brussels
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before you take the train from Ghent back to Brussels (approximately 30 minutes). On arrival in Brussels, check in for a 2 night stay at the Leopold Hotel Brussels.
Brussels is best known for its beer and chocolate but there is so much else to see and do whilst in this medieval city. Enjoy a stroll around the Grand Place or shop until you drop at Brussels' most exclusive shopping area Avenue Louise.
Enjoy some of the hundreds of varieties of Belgian beer, sample Belgian chocolates or visit the famous Magritte Museum to view over 200 original paintings, drawings and sculptures by the surrealist artist René Magritte.
Day 5
Brussels to London
After breakfast in the hotel travel by Eurostar from Brussels to London, approximate journey time 1 hour 51 minutes.

Ghent is a beautiful university city with medieval cobbled streets, ancient canals and a picturesque river. Glide through the city’s network of canals on a boat trip for a fascinating commentary on this historic destination or visit the imposing Castle of the Counts and enjoy spectacular views from the battlements. In the evening, enjoy some traditional Flemish fare or try one of the bewildering selection of local and regional beers.
Brussels
The capital of Belgium and of the European Union, Brussels has two official languages (French and Flemish) and a huge array of attractions. Visit one of the temporary exhibitions in the globes of the futuristic Atomium, browse the designer boutiques along the Avenue Louise or the Antiques Markets around the Place du Petit Sablon, and don’t miss a visit to the stunning medieval Grand Place where you can sample some famous Belgian beer.
Novotel Gent Centrum 
The Novotel Gent Centrum Hotel has 117 modern bedrooms. The hotel has an outdoor pool (usually open May to September), and a contemporary bar and restaurant. The hotel is located in the historical centre of Ghent, close to the town hall, Belfry Tower, St Bavo cathedral, museums and shops.
