Itinerary - 5 Night Luxury Holiday by Rail
Day 1
London to Zurich
Travel from London to Paris on Eurostar in Standard Premier class and then transfer onto the high speed TGV Lyria train to Zurich. Check in at the beautiful Schweizerhof Hotel located opposite the impressive train station.
Enjoy your overnight stay in one of Switzerland's most scenic cities. Not only famous as a financial centre, Zurich is a joy to visit thanks to its impressive choice of museums, beautiful cobbled old town and wealth of great restaurants. Take a walk along the shores of Lake Zurich or stop in one of the many museums around the city, before sampling some traditional Swiss fare such as raclette or fondue.
Day 2
Zurich to Florence
After breakfast, take the Eurocity train (first class) from Zurich to Florence via Milan. Relax whilst the train cuts through the Alps on the famous Gotthard Pass across the border into Italy. After Chiasso, the train runs next to Lakes Lugano and Como. Change in Milan and arrive into Florence Santa Maria Novella station in the afternoon.
Check in to the Relais Santa Croce Florence for your 3 night stay. The Relais Santa Croce is a stunning 18th century property decorated with impressive fresco ceilings and offering spacious rooms and highly professional staff.
Days 3 and 4
Florence
Spend two days in Florence at your own leisure. Discover the reasons behind Florence's reputation as the "capital of art". Visit the most famous museum in Florence, the Uffizi, which displays works by Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. Alternatively visit more of Italy's famous churches such as the San Lorenzo, Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce.
Day 5
Turin
Take the train from Florence to Turin in first class (journey time approximately 2 hours 45 minutes). Pass by rolling streams and impressive mountain scenes all from the comfort of your seat.
Check in at the Grand Hotel Sitea Turin for your overnight stay. Enjoy Piedmontese specialties in the hotel's luxurious restaurant and enjoy a relaxing drink in the classy American style bar.
Explore the best of Turin with time to stroll through the Piazzas experiencing the delightful atmosphere of the city. Sample some of the city's quality ice-cream or visit the numerous cultural institutions such as the Palazzo Carignano, home to the first Italian Parliament and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud.
Day 6
Turin to London
From Turin, travel the five and a half hour journey in first class to Paris catching glimpses of the French Alps, before stopping for lunch or transferring straight onto your Eurostar back to London in Standard Premier Class.

Florence
Florence is a beautiful Tuscan city, famous as the birthplace of the Renaissance movement. Visit Michelangelo’s David at the Galleria dell’Accademia, or head to the fabulous Uffizi Gallery for works by Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and Giotto amongst hundreds of others. For some rest and relaxation, the Boboli Gardens are a tranquil haven with superb views over the distinctive umber roofs and famous domed spires of the city.
Schweizerhof Hotel
