Itinerary - 3 Night Holiday by Air + Rail

Day 1

London to Montreux

Fly with British Airways in World Traveller class from London to Geneva. Continue by train from Geneva to Montreux and on arrival in Montreux check in at the Helvétie Hotel for a 1 night stay.

Montreux is considered to be "The Pearl of the Swiss Riviera" and is famous for its jazz festival and beautiful surroundings. Wander along the shores of Lake Geneva, visit the Lavaux vineyards which are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or take a trip to the idyllic Chillon Castle.

Montreux is home to over 20 Michelin Guide restaurants so there are plenty of opportunities to treat yourself to a relaxing meal in this idyllic location.

Day 2

Montreux to Venice

After breakfast in the hotel depart Montreux and continue your journey by train to Venice. On arrival in Venice check in at the Ai Mori d' Oriente Hotel for a 2 night stay.

Venice is considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Climb to the top of St Mark's Square's Campanile for amazing views over the city, wander through the narrow streets and squares or take a romantic gondola ride down the Grand Canal.

Visit the Peggy Guggenheim gallery, take a trip to Marco Polo's House or simply stroll around the labyrinth of narrow passageways, alleys, canals and delicate bridges of this unique city.

Day 3

Venice

Spend a second day at leisure in Venice.

Included in your itinerary is a two-hour Venice walking tour. Skip the queues into St Mark's Cathedral and learn the history of other famous landmarks like the Rialto Bridge and the Doge's Palace.

In the evening sample some traditional seafood whilst enjoying a glass of sparkling prosecco in one of the traditional restaurants tucked away throughout the city.

Day 4

Venice to London

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before flying with British Airways in World Traveller class from Venice to London.

Montreux is in the Swiss Riviera, located on the banks of Lake Geneva, overlooking the distant French Alps. Immerse yourself in the history of the Château de Chillon, place a bet in the legendary casino, or catch a train up the rack and pillion line to the Rochers-de-Naye for spectacular views. Montreux is also a great base for exploring other resorts on Lake Geneva by boat, such as Vevey and Villeneuve.

With its unique atmosphere, Venice has entranced visitors for centuries. Get lost in the winding narrow streets and pretty little campos. You will always end up back at the Grand Canal, with its grand palazzos and distinctive stripped mooring poles. Don’t miss the spectacular St Mark’s Square with its ornate Basilica or the little boutiques on and around the Rialto Bridge.
