Itinerary - 6 Night Holiday by Rail
Day 1
London to Brussels
Travel on Eurostar from London to Brussels, which takes around 1 hour 50 minutes. On arrival check-in at the Hilton Brussels City
Relax in one of the cafes which line the city's avenues and squares or stroll around one of the many museums. Brussels is also the perfect place for shopping; from designer boutiques to fashion and craft shops, Brussels has it all!
After a busy day of wandering around this historic city, enjoy a meal in one of the superb restaurants.
Day 2
Brussels
Spend the day at leisure exploring Brussels.
Why not visit the famous Magritte Museum, which has a collection of over 200 original paintings, drawings and sculptures by the surrealist artist René Magritte?
You could visit some of the exhibitions in one of the spheres of the Atomium, Brussels’ answer to the Eiffel Tower, or enjoy a traditional Belgian lunch at the newly renovated Chez Leon in the heart of city!
Days 3 and 4
Luxembourg
Travel from Brussels to Luxembourg, which takes approximately 3 hours. On arrival check-in at the Grand Hotel Mercure Alfa Luxembourg.
Luxembourg the country is the last remaining Grand Duchy in the world with four official languages (including Luxembourgish) among its population of half a million people. Luxembourg City, perched on a hill above the Pétrusse and Alzette rivers is a lovely place to explore for a couple of days.
Enjoy a coffee at one of the many cafés around the Place d'Armes square, explore the cobbled streets and historical buildings of the old town area or visit the 17th century Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Day 5
Cologne
Travel from Luxembourg to Cologne, which takes approximately 3 hours 20 minutes. On arrival check-in at the Marriott Cologne Hotel.
The journey from Luxembourg to Cologne takes you through the scenic Moselle Valley. Enjoy stunning views of the mountains and Moselle river from the comfort of your seat!
Day 6
Cologne
Visit Cologne's Chocolate Museum for a tasting, relax in a traditional bar and sample the local specialty beer Kolsch, or head up to the top of the Dom for fabulous views over the city.
Enjoy the perfect end to your holiday with a relaxing meal at one of the many restaurants the city has to offer.
Day 7
Cologne to London
Travel by train from Cologne to Brussels, where you transfer onto Eurostar to London.

The capital of Belgium and of the European Union, Brussels has two official languages (French and Flemish) and a huge array of attractions. Visit one of the temporary exhibitions in the globes of the futuristic Atomium, browse the designer boutiques along the Avenue Louise or the Antiques Markets around the Place du Petit Sablon, and don’t miss a visit to the stunning medieval Grand Place where you can sample some famous Belgian beer.
Luxembourg City
The cosmopolitan capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City is perched high on top of a rocky hill, overlooking the Rivers Pétrusse and Alzette. The city was once a Habsburg fortress and parts of the original walls and fortifications remain. Areas of the Old Town are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander around the picturesque streets of the Grund, in the lower town or visit the Casemates Bock, a network of 18th century underground fortifications.
Cologne
Cologne is a famous city along the River Rhine, whose skyline is dominated by its awe-inspiring Gothic Cathedral, one of the largest of its kind. Climb the south tower for spectacular views over the city and the river. There are also plenty of museums here including the Römisch-Germanisches Museum, offering an interesting history of the Rhine during Roman times and the Chocolate Museum, a must for chocoholics.
