Itinerary - 6 Night Holiday by Rail

Days 1 and 2

Berlin

On arrival in Berlin, check in at the Arcotel John F Berlin for a 2 night stay.

Spend the next two days discovering this vibrant, modern capital. Admire the iconic Brandenburg Gate, shop for gifts along the famous Kurfürstendamm or pay a visit to the Reichstag building. Wander around one of the 153 museums throughout the city, visit Checkpoint Charlie or why not go for a stroll in the city’s largest park, the Tiergarten?

In the evening head to one of the many restaurants which are dotted around the city.

Days 3 and 4

Prague

After breakfast in the hotel, travel by train from Berlin to Prague. On arrival in Prague, check in at the K+K Hotel Central for a 2 night stay.

Cross the famous Charles Bridge over the Vltava River and wander around the cobbled streets of the Old Town or why not climb up to the famous castle and admire the spectacular views?

Go for a stroll around the quaint side streets of the picturesque Lesser Town area and in the evening visit one of the many restaurants and bars around Wenceslas Square.

Days 5 and 6

Budapest

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before travelling by train from Prague to Budapest. On arrival in Budapest, check in at the K & K Opera Hotel for a 2 night stay.

Rich in museums and old cobbled streets, Budapest has also been known as the City of Spas with over a dozen thermal baths served by the a host of natural springs in the region. Take a walk up to Castle Hill for breathtaking views over the city, visit St. Stephens Basilica, wander around the monumental Heroes Square or visit the impressive Parliament building.

Spend the evening relaxing at one of the many restaurants and bars lining the old town centre. Hungary's local beer Dreher is omnipresent in the city and the hustle and bustle of the main square provides all the entertainment one would need.

Berlin

Berlin is a fascinating city full of history, culture, fabulous buildings and museums, along with a wide range of excellent restaurants and a strong tradition in the performing arts. There is no better place to start than the Berlin Wall; symbolising the division between capitalist West and communist East, sections of the Wall can be visited at several locations. Head up the Alexanderplatz Tower for spectacular views or visit Museum Island for some of the city’s oldest and finest museums.

Prague

Prague

Prague has over a thousand years of history, architecture and culture to discover. In the UNESCO World Heritage listed Old Town you can wander through narrow, cobbled lanes, discover ornate churches and stumble across grand open squares including the main Old Town Square where you can see the pretty Astronomical Clock, one of the oldest and most elaborate clocks ever built. There are also many museums to choose from, including the National Museum (for history) and the National Gallery, the second oldest art gallery in Europe after the Louvre in Paris.

Budapest

Budapest

Hungary’s historic capital, Budapest has a huge amount to offer, from grand architecture to world-class museums. There are also over a dozen thermal spas to choose from, of which the Széchenyi Baths are the oldest, largest and grandest. Visit the Hungarian Parliament, one of Europe’s oldest legislative buildings containing Hungary’s crown jewels or climb Gellért Hill for fabulous views of the majestic Buda Castle and Széchenyi Chain Bridge.
