Itinerary - 5 Night Holiday by Air + Rail
Day 1
Depart London
Travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, then transfer onto the overnight Elipsos sleeper train to Barcelona (in Club Class) leaving from Paris Gare d'Austerlitz. Relax on board with dinner in the elegant restaurant car or tapas in the café bar and a glass of traditional wine. Wake in the morning and enjoy breakfast as you travel through the stunning mountains and valleys of northern Spain.
Days 2 and 3
Barcelona
Enjoy breakfast in the restarant car before arriving into Barcelona Franca station. On arrival, check in at your hotel the Astoria Hotel Barcelona for your 2 night stay.
For the perfect introduction to Barcelona, ramble down La Rambla, the most famous tree-lined pedestrian boulevard in the world packed with buskers, living statues, mime artists and the odd street performance. Stop in Mercat de la Boqueria for a fresh coconut juice and a fabulous insight into the world of Spanish cuisine.
Explore some of the masterpieces of Barcelona's most celebrated architect - Gaudi. Days 4 and 5
Madrid
Take the high speed AVE train in Tourista Class from Barcelona to Madrid (2 hours 35 minutes). Check in at the Tryp Atocha Madrid for your 2 night stay.
Located in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula, Madrid attracts visitors from every corner of the globe thanks to its love of art and enthusiasm for life. Spend your afternoon sightseeing in this energetic capital. Visit the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, filled with some of the most beautiful Spanish Art. Wander through the city passing Madrid's finest monuments before relaxing in the Parque del Retiro, its largest and most impressive park.

Barcelona

Madrid is a city with its own rhythms and a culture all its own. Don't expect to eat early (many restaurants don't even open their doors till gone 9pm) but do expect to eat well. You may even catch a performance of flamenco!

Enjoy breakfast in the restaurant car before arriving back into Paris Gare d'Austerlitz. Spend a few hours enjoying the romantic capital catching a few sights such as the Champs Élysées and Eiffel Tower before transferring onto your Eurostar back to London.
