A twin centre break in two of Holland's most attractive cities: Amsterdam and Maastricht. Travel by train to Amsterdam for a 2 night stay exploring this cosmopolitan city. You then travel by train to Maastricht for 2 nights discovering this historic city before returning to London by train.

Itinerary - 4 Night Holiday by Rail
Day 1
London to Amsterdam
Travel on Eurostar from London to Brussels where you transfer onto the local train to Amsterdam. On arrival in Amsterdam check into the Roemer Hotel Amsterdam for a 2 night stay.
Spend the rest of the day exploring Amsterdam at leisure. Hiring a bike is a great way to get around Amsterdam. There are dedicated bike paths throughout the city and bikes are available to hire from around €8 per day.
Day 2
Amsterdam
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before exploring more of this cosmopolitan city. Amsterdam is the biggest shopping centre in the Netherlands with over ten thousand shops, markets and boutiques so there are plenty of opportunities to do some shopping during your stay. There are also many museums that you can visit including the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank museum and Van Gogh museum.
Day 3
Amsterdam to Maastricht
After breakfast in the hotel you travel by train from Amsterdam to Maastricht. On arrival in Maastricht check into the Hampshire Design Hotel Maastricht for a 2 night stay.
Spend the day at leisure discovering all Maastricht has to offer. Go for a wander around the cobbled streets of Vrijthof Square or take to the water with a river cruise on the River Maas. After a busy day sightseeing relax in one of the many bars and restaurants the city has to offer.
Day 4
Maastricht
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before you have another day exploring the oldest city in Holland. Why not take a trip to the Caves of Mount St Pieter which represent thousands of years of history or marvel at the Romanesque architecture of the Basilica of Our Beloved Lady?
Day 5
Utrecht to London
After breakfast in the hotel you travel by train from Maastricht to London via Brussels.

Amsterdam is a multifaceted city, with something for every traveller’s taste. It’s packed with culture, history and architecture and boasts one of the largest historic centres in Europe. Maastricht
Maastricht is the capital of the Dutch province of Limburg and sits either side of the River Maas. The city has a rich history going back to the time of the Celts and then the Romans; as such the city has a wonderful combination of old and new architecture; from the 11th century Basilica of Our Beloved Lady to the futuristic Bonnefanten Museum. Have a coffee on Vrijthof Square, walk through history at The Caves of Mount St Pieter then enjoy a relaxing cruise on the River Maas.
Roemer Hotel Amsterdam 
The Roemer Hotel Amsterdam is converted from two 18th-century mansions, and has traditional décor combined with modern amenities. The hotel has a cocktail bar with fireplace and has a privately owned garden which is the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring. The Roemer is situated in a quiet street in the heart of Amsterdam. Leidseplein and the Van Gogh Museum are less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel and there are excellent tram links to the Central Station.
