Strasbourg

Strasbourg

Strasbourg is one of France's most beautiful cities, with a mixture of German Gothic architecture, and French café society. Some would say it's the best of both worlds - German beer and French wine; German efficiency and French cuisine. Watch the world go by from the square's pavement cafés or excellent restaurants, explore the city on one of the efficient futuristic trams, or wander along the canals of the Petite France area.

Freiburg

Freiburg

Come to Freiburg for fabulous architecture, good shopping and some lovely beer gardens in stunning natural surroundings. Take the longest cable car in Germany up to the peak of the Schauinsland in the Black Forest. Explore the wonderful red sandstone architecture on and around the Münsterplatz and watch out for the little Bächle running through the streets – if you fall in one, it’s said that you will marry a Freiburger!

Cologne

Cologne

Cologne is a famous city along the River Rhine, whose skyline is dominated by its awe-inspiring Gothic Cathedral, one of the largest of its kind. Climb the south tower for spectacular views over the city and the river. There are also plenty of museums here including the Römisch-Germanisches Museum, offering an interesting history of the Rhine during Roman times and the Chocolate Museum, a must for chocoholics.
