Biarritz was one of the most popular seaside resorts in Europe - made fashionable by Napoleon III's wife Empress Eugénie, and visited by European Royalty and film stars. Sea Museum
The Sea Museum houses more than 150 different species of fish and other creatures found in the Bay of Biscay. Highlights include the feeding of the seals every day at 10.30am and 5pm. The museum also has an exhibition on whaling and the local fishing industry.

Hôtel du Palais
The Hôtel du Palais, formerly known as Villa Eugénie, is one of the city’s main landmarks. It was built in the mid 19th century by Napoleon III for his wife, Eugénie, who he met in Biarritz. The building is now an elegant hotel with a Guerlain Spa.
