Go wild in Hamburg with Jungle Nights
Anyone looking for some unusual entertainment while on a Hamburg break may wish to head to Jungle Nights at the city's Hagenbeck Zoo.
The attraction hosts evenings of circus-style entertainment with its 1,850 animal residents providing the backdrop to elephant shows, acrobatics, belly dancers, magic shows, horse riding, music and clown displays.
Fun begins at 18:00 local time and organisers describe the event as totally "unique" due to the setting and the fact animal calls can regularly be heard in the background, adding that they attract tens of thousands of visitors each year.
It adds that to see the wildlife in the zoo by night is an experience in itself.
This year, Jungle Nights are scheduled to take place on May 30th, June 6th and June 13th.
For anyone seeking a more ambient evening, the zoo also hosts Romantic Nights during the summer months, with guests being invited to stroll through the flora and fauna of the attraction, accompanied by live classical music.
Over 70 young artists will be located at various points of the zoo, ready to entertain guests, while anyone feeling peckish can sample some of the attraction's culinary delights.
The evenings finish with a performance of Fireworks Music by Handel.
