Go for Ghent
Those planning a holiday in Belgium might instinctively think of Bruges and Brussels. However, one of the country's best kept secrets is medieval Ghent.
With its scenic canals and river, the historic town is the perfect place to go for a relaxing break.
History enthusiasts will not be short of sights to explore such as the city's gothic cathedral which features the world-renowned altarpiece by Hubert and Jan van Eyck known as The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb.
