The Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen
The Tivoli Gardens' annual summer season begins in Copenhagen on April 17th and concludes on September 21st.
First opened in 1843, the attraction, resplendent in flora and fauna, offers visitors the chance to peruse a vast array of plants and flowers, while also offering a host of free entertainment.
Not only do the gardens have more than 20 funfair rides, it is also home to the fastest rollercoaster to be found anywhere in Denmark.
Other entertaining acts held in the gardens include circus shows, clown performances and pantomimes, in addition to cabaret, comedians, live music and the renowned Tivoli Symphony Orchestra.
Regular firework displays normally take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
There are a wealth of cafes, bars and restaurants around the area offering fine foods and local delicacies.
After visiting the gardens, Copenhagen has plenty of other attractions to enjoy such as the Danish Museum of Art and Design, the Open Air Museum and the State Art Gallery.
When it comes to shopping, there is the Gammel Strand Flea Market, the Royal Copenhagen Store and Utopia, which sells a variety of items inspired by the Danish design styles of the 1950s and 1960s.
