Come to Cannes for a short break
Cannes is a delightful city which lies on the Mediterranean and offers many wonderful attractions to keep visitors busy.
A trip to the French city would not be complete without a stroll along La Croissette, the stretch of sidewalk that lines the length of Cannes' shore.
Billboards advertising the film festival, smart boutiques and wonderful cafes can be found on the promenade, while it is also possible to rent a sun bed and parasol and laze on the beautiful sandy beach.
For museum lovers, the Musée de la Castre is excellent. The museum houses a vast array of Mediterranean artefacts and a fantastic collection of musical instruments from across the world, in addition to offering fabulous views of the city from the medieval tower.
The Musée de la Malamison is also well worth a visit, with exhibitions of contemporary art and beautiful gardens to be explored.
Picturesque architecture and beautiful gardens make a trip to the suburb of Cannet highly recommended, which also contains several art and crafts galleries.
Cannes explodes into life during the Film Festival held each May, with visitors flocking to the city to do some celebrity spotting. The city however is a fantastic choice for a short break all year round, with a lively town centre and welcoming atmosphere.
