What to do and see in and around Davos
Glacier Express
Davos is a great base for excursions on the famous Glacier Express which takes you through breathtaking alpine scenery in the heart of Switzerland. The Glacier Express travels between Zermatt and Davos/St. Moritz.
Bernina Express
Travel along one of the most beautiful rail routes in the world. The train is the highest rail line in the Alps, it goes over the Bernina Pass giving travellers a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape through the window.
Winter Sports
With breathtaking views, 5 skiing areas and over 300km of slopes Davos is a skier’s paradise attracting an international crowd. If you want a day out of the slopes there are plenty of other activities to keep you entertained, cross country skiing, ice sports, indoor sports and flying. After a day of activity relax in one of Davos’ numerous after-ski bars.
Summer Sports
Davos has lots of activities to offer during the summer season, water sports, golf, tennis, fishing, climbing, and hiking to name a few. With over 700km worth of hiking trails in the Davos region it doesn’t matter if you are an experienced hiker looking for a challenge or prefer leisurely walks, you will find a trail perfect for your needs. For cyclists there are more than 600km of cycling routes.
Kirchner Museum
The Kirchner Museum offers visitors a chance to experience the works of expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner in the town they were created. The museum also displays works by artists such as Albert Müller, Fritz Winter and Otto Mueller.
Winter Sports Museum
Housed in the old Post office the Winter Sports Museums displays a large collection of winter sports equipment. The exhibits include skis, bobsleds and skates dating from the 19th century to the present day.
