The Theatron Music Summer in Munich

A month of free outdoor rock and jazz concerts kicks off on August 6th in the historic German city of Munich.

The Theatron Music Summer festival takes place at the Theatron theatre by the Olympic Lake. The venue's steep auditorium allows spectators to enjoy great views of the performances and the surrounding scenery.

The festival kicks off with Sing Arts, which features performances by cabaret artists originating from Bavaria and beyond. The second section of the event celebrates world music, while the main focus of the festival is rock music.

Fans of classical music and jazz will also be catered for in late August, with two performances a day taking place.

More than 100,000 people attend the Theatron Music Summer every year.

The festival concludes on August 24th.

Other events taking place in Munich include the ever-popular annual Oktoberfest and Christmas markets. Next year, music lovers will be able to enjoy the Long Night of Music, covering everything from blues to flamenco, and the Pentecost Festival, which celebrates local musical talent.
