Shopping fever in Cannes

Usually famous for its film festival, Cannes is set to come alive with people looking for the season's must-haves as its annual shopping festival takes place.
Running from January 7th to 11th at the Palais de Festivals, the week will see a variety of events taking place, including fashion shows, celebrity sightings and gala occasions.
Those looking forward to bagging a bargain will be in luck, as many of the shops and boutiques in the city offer discounts while the week is on.
People who prefer the designer end of the market can take in a variety of fashion shows, with a number of big names showing their collections.
Valentino, Kenzoa and Salvatore Ferragamo are set to hit the city with their latest offerings.
Those interested in up-and-coming designers can attend the Cannes Fashion event, an exhibition which showcases the newest experts to the industry.
With all the haute couture around, it is inevitable a celebrity or two will be in the city for visitors to spot.
The Palais des Festivals will be home to much of the action, which has recently opened the Rotunda Lerins - a round 'magic circle' - to house more exhibitions.
